"The match, which begins at 5pm, is on the same day as the popular Christmas in the Park at the Auckland Domain."

There we have it. All this 'family experience' bum chummery that Welnix insist on every single fudgeing round could well have backfired. Kids/parents may want to go to this instead, or even just stay at home and watch it.

Pre sales have normally been around the 13k mark heading into the game on the last couple of days. Would not be surprised if it does not get past 13k. The Xmas in the park will kill the walk ups I think. I know thats where I have been told I have to be .... #whipped.

I say: The Phoenix are not in Auckland often

She says: But you go to watch football all the time, this is a once a year thing

I say: But its a chance to get along and watch in some atmosphere

She says: And yet all you do is sit quietly in front of the TV. How is that noise going to affect you watching the game?

Some times, you just cannot tell your darling dearest. The instant the bloody Warriors are on however.....

"We aren't going to recover that. And we've spent a little more on players. We've got a full squad of 23."

I just don't see how this statement from Morrison is even relevant, we all know the FFA cover the squads salary - it's not coming from their pockets.

I get that welnix want to make a profit from the team but crying pauper and threatening the fans is not going to win us over.

Queenslander 3x a year.

They mentioned that normally 60 percent of sales occurs on the two days before the game, so 9000 is not that bad in my opinion at this stage.

Hopefully it picks a bit and we get close to 20k. Just bad timing with the christmas parade... although if people do this in the morning they may be encouraged to do the footy in the avo.

The FFA give you the cap, but you only have to spend 80% of it on players. So either we didn't use the full cap before or we have gone over it using the marquee system. I'm sure its the former, and now that we have lost Caira and Brockie that will help the bottom line.

I have read that public transport to the domain from eden park is free after the game to get people there before it kicks off (the article applied that was 7.30)

Now that it comes to me, i hope the NIX are at the park in the morning etc, or at least some promo people handing out family pass coupons etc and encouraging people to get across later in the day.

A lot of potential first time football fans there.

You have to read between the lines sometimes with women...

...What she is trying to say Jeff, is you should start coming to games at the caketin.

Her response to your well thought out point about a chance to get along with some atmosphere is to point out that you usually sit quietly in front of the televsion.

Translation through google's women's speak tranmogrifier - you need to get along with the atmosphere more often, dear. Go to Wellington for home games.

See? Simple once you understand the mystifying code mate.

Christmas in the Park. Not the parade. This is the one in the Auckland Domain that gets 250k usually. KO at 7:30pm.

Women are often a double edge sword when it comes to a mans personal interests. They either wont let you do what you want to do because they don't understand. Or they understand completely and want to be a part of it all and wont leave you alone to enjoy your own interests.

Its a good thing ACFC won this morning, or all those thousands would be too embarrassed to come along and watch the Nix. We will now get 15k ACFC fans taunting us from the stands on saturday.

Public transport to nix, public transport to domain, public transport home. No parking, less walking, more drinking.

Alcoholic here. No drinking.

Friends live in Carlton Gore Road so there is literally a park right outside the domain.

Can you see how I get no fudgeing out on this one?

Can still enjoy football without alcohol, I do it 90% of the time and I'm sure there must be a bus or train near to the domain that will take you to eden park and then back again - only paying one way. Invite your friends where you intend to park the car, tell them it's Nixmas at Eden Park.

No, it's allegedly the "International singing star" whom once went to Hawaii for a gig and now that he has his toes under the TVNZ door, he gets all the Christmas in the Park gigs. His brother Johnny was/is the better singer (Even when he worked for INXS). TVNZ always bring out the same old same olds. Sadly, due to illness, Ray Columbus won't up to doing the gig.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Should've compromised that you'd go to Christmas in the park if she lets you come down to wellington for a nix game.

It's not the size that matters, C-Diddy, but what Nixie does with it.
