[quote=number8]McGlinchey and A-Rod are back in the squad. Both should start as long as they last play. A-Rod for Lia and McGlinchey for Parkhouse. Midfield needs some inspiration. McGlinchey adds experience and A-Rod better distribution.[/quote

So who replaces Parkhouse in defence?  I think Wee Mac should go onto bench first.

A skim read is quite an experience.

Jesus that's a terrible piece.

I'm sure I remember midfielder showing stats showing our team not being the lowest viewed team in Aus,

We don't get the lowest crowds any more, especially in relation to our size, hell last year the worst attendance in our piddly little town still wasn't the lowest.  It was CCM vs Melbourne, the FFA's favorite.

Foxtel said they didn't mind a team in Tasmania despite low numbers and low subscribers to mix up the league, keep it from getting stale.  That's the Nix, having a NZ team is exactly that.  Replacing us with a Melbourne or Sydney team is being as boring as they can be as they already have multiple in those areas.

We pay our players on time, and don't make much noise except when the FFA has a whinge about the NZ team not doing enough by being above Aus teams.  That would be fixed with a 20 year licence so that's FFA self inflicted pain.

I just don't get how anyone can see us as the team for the axe.  Hell I don't think any of the current teams need the axe, but if its anyone it would be the team that has consistently struggled to pay their players.

The only metric I see us failing is members, but who cares if more people are turning up than other teams?

Hell the thing they are whinging about now is the results.  We haven't been last for 4 seasons, and we aren't last now.  Yea we aren't first but if you are going to cut a team for poor results wouldn't that be last place?

That article just drips of an anti-nix person taking advantage of someone else saying something.  Saying that YF aren't showing decency by admitting we shouldn't have a team in the league is total BS, and just smacks of arrogance.  He finishes saying he hopes the words lit a fuse, if it did its the explosion that gets rid of NZ's only pro football club.

I just don't understand how football "fans" in NZ can be so against NZ having a pro football club, where kiwis are paid to be full time footballers.  How is that anything but a good thing?

Sorry for the rant, just had to get it out.

What does everyone think is the ideal strike force and midfield now that we've got so many striking and midfield options? Weemac, Watson, Gui, Kosta, Roy, Smeltz, Roly....

that's not surprising given the fact we've not played in Wellington for over a month.

Those were the fox TV ratings.

But come to think of it I wonder if that takes into account that we're one game down and to a high rating team

so basically guaranteeing us to fail as sky is not fox?

Yes, but until sky pays more they don't count, the last ratings posted had us above CCM and the Jets. Now we're below them.

Still means the fox ratings for our games are skewed against us.

Given our recent games have been out of Wellington most views would be from Sky not Fox - ergo our ratings have dropped!

Not an even playing field - which isnt surprising.

That's a really good point, if they are just dividing it by weeks then it would skew the shark out of the stats.

Its not long untill the Victory game, lets see if that boosts us a bit, though that's not going to be as good as it could due to the day its falling on.

the problem is Fox pays the bills and Sky doesn't. We don't have to like it but the fact is that Bosnich is an employee of the company that pays our squad.

FOX pays the bills and a New Zealand team helped over 12 years to make the product they sell. Fact.

Business wise it is really shortsighted to ignore a potential 4 Mio NZ market. Instead of hoping bringing more clubs into a Sydney, Melbourne area with a third club. Nobody gives a shark about City, why would the turn up to a third Melbourne club? If they want to extend the league by two and long term 4-6 clubs it will be really hard to bring on more passionate fans than us. The only thing that makes sense long term is keep the Nix in and hoping a second NZ club will be formed for the second phase if the A-League.

FOX should offer a streaming service in NZ to screw SKY that ssid I probably won't buy, because FOX is an evil company.

I'm starting to think Bozza's comments are just a cheeky marketing ploy/headline grab unless he's really off his nutter.

He can be as serious as he wants, and maybe the aussie mob will be listening. At the end of the day he is still an ex-player who spent a bulk of his EPL career not playing in the first team. He was an ok player and thinks this validates his opinion and makes it worth more than others. Personally I think he is the biggest anti-NIX (Kiwi) supporter out there and he wont be happy until we are out.

According to Google, at 8 pm tomorrow it'll be rainy and extremely windy with wind gusts of 48 km/h. Some of our players have 0 motivation for anything, so hopefully this awful weather doesn't change their attitude.

I think Bozza misunderstands a team's passion, the players dont need to be a bunch of overly aggressive boofheads to be passionate about the game or team - they just need to turn up and play well. Dura shows plenty of passion - especially when the refs seem to be against us - what does that achieve?? Sweet fudge all!

first you have to have passion, but then you also need to apply it in a productive way. You have to to care about the performance and the result. And you have to recognise that teamwork is vital too. Maybe then, you have passion.

He certainly is not one of my favourites but he did  spend most of his EPL career  playing in the first team. 179 games for Aston Villa alone says something.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
