I had started plenty of chants, the Zone was quiet, what were you doing to enhance the experience?

What was I doing? - screaming/shouting and encouraging our boys to fight for a win. Following the YF chants as I always do from aisle 23 - not getting bored and popping balloons in spite of being asked to stop.

Good for you, keep up the good work Champ!

Thanks, I will. Unlike some, I'm not about to give up on the team or club.

Clearly some are highly strung. That's deflating for others. Maybe not surprising how quickly it blew up.

Anyway must win in Perth next, I'm pumped!

Stressed out? No. Just some people are acting like dicks and wonder why they are told off for it and don't get the sympathy vote for self inflicted 'drama'

Assumed it was fire crackers. Very surprised to find it was a balloon being popped. Also thought "we don't know what we're doing" was aimed at Chris and Des.

Just logged on to the website and I need some directions.  How many pages of balloon stories do I need to trawl through before I find any discussion related to the game?

I watched lengthy bits of it on TV but not all of it, due to non-footballing dinner guests but what I saw did not inspire me with much confidence.  My observations: there was poor distribution, general lack of self-belief, low team spirit, weak midfield  performance and a total goalmouth impotence... and I refer here to Adelaide, of whom I expect way more than the Nix, due to their coaching quality, past results, and a generally decent squad.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

This may be an indication of just how bad the game was on the pitch except for the last 5 minutes. I reckon Galekovic (?) deserves MOTM for single handedly saving them a loss and gaining them a point. Roy was passing when he should have taken a shot and shot when he should have passed. The defence was ok, wing backs beaten only a few times. Moss must have just about fallen asleep and had it covered for almost every shot, what few there were. Midfield was a mixed bag, some good stuff and some awful ball retention. The weather was warmish, shoery with the swirling wind hindering the spectacle. Roll on our next Home game when Wellington should not be so empty and more fans hopefully show up.

Worth noting that Rossi is ridiculously good. Can see why he was in the Serie A. God I hope he sticks around. And I hope our young defenders are learning everything they can off him.

no-one is doubting/questioning anyone's commitment to the cause, just the match day choices.

How long does his contract go for? I could see him signing for a club where he could help them actually win stuff.

nothing like a good scandal to attract interest, lets blow it out of proportion and get the media involved after all any publicity is good publicity.

I had read somewhere that he'd said he was here to improve and get recognized by clubs in Europe - wouldn't be surprised if his agent has been sending videos off to other clubs.

Beggars belief, well, to me anyway :) that Fox hasn't played minutes alongside Rossi. I guess Dura being El Capitano is the reasoning but surely Fox will hang around longer than Rossi and we need to be bringing Fox on by giving him game time to learn off Rossi. Not that difficult to manage, is it?

The rumor was that his wife had left after the earthquakes as had Finklers, but Durante said in the podcast that it was just temporary. I wonder if they're back?

We need to hold onto Rossi, he's doing more for the team than our marquees.

Or even try a back 3 - it's reasonably common in Italian football so Rossi could do it I reckon. And Tratt and Lowry can both play CB too, and Lord knows our 4 at the back formations haven't been working. Would allow wingbacks to advance more and would relieve some pressure off Lia at DM

change in formation would be great to see - would mean that Bucking-acre are stamping their own mark on this team.

Two points lost IMO

Adelaide are a truely truely bad team. We were at nearly full strength. We were at home and the weather conditions were 100% in our favour. On paper we have a good team but as a unit we have some real problems. There is something seriously wrong with the setup and combinations of the midfield in particular. The transfer of the ball is laboured. It appears that the players are so focused on not making errors that they take two or three touches before passing. The debate on the coaches will go on but I am not seeing much difference post Ernie.

If we can't take maximum points of sides like Adelaide and the Jets then we will struggle to make the top six.... another sub par Phoenix season is on the cards. In the meantime the club just drifts on. Public interest continues to drop and some of the fans appear to be at each others throats.

I didn't see the balloon incident so I can't comment. But for me Westpac is the my least favourite football stadiums( and I see plenty of football live around the globe) I have always had a problem with the attitude of the staff. It seems to me that we spectators are seen as potentially dangerous  football hooligans. In fact the Nix home crowd is mostly made up of families and overweight middle aged public servants and is probably the most benign football crowd you could get. Right from when you arrive you have the loud speakers earbash you about what will happen to you if you do stuff that happens in just about every football stadium around the world. The whole stadium experiance is a turn off and it wouldn't worry me if I never went to a game there again. There is a big difference between throwing stuff, running on the field etc and just having normal football fan fun......popping balloons...good grief!!!!

So this season's a write off, we've got 3 years left to prove ourselves.... seems like the fans are the only ones wanting the club to succeed.

Was that reference to me cause I don't get it...

Not at all JV, I was ejected from the stadium for blowing up balloons!

(& my two daughters left with me)

My question is what else did you do that you are not telling us cause as someone else said, that's does seems excessive. Getting kicked out for popping balloons is not a reasonable response from any security guard so there must be more to it.

A club gopher (Schmitty) came & told Patrick to tell me to stop popping balloons. Security started coming & then backed off. I went to security to get Schmitty to come & talk to me rather than the clubs YF puppet. It was then that security told me that the Head of security, Peter Gill, had instructed them to eject me. I then popped another balloon in the tunnel of Aisle 21 & was manhandled out. Peter Gill, said that I was being ejected as I had broken Stadium rules, & I was swearing!

A quick recap to get my head around. Several people told you to stop popping baloons and you continue doing it? And now you complaining about getting kicked out in front of you daughters?

I feel more sorry for 'the puppets' who have to deal with this while the game is on than for you.

I could hear the swearing and yelling from two aisles away. Embarrassing if his two daughters were there as well.

Being thrown out for blowing up/popping balloons unjustified - the carry on afterwards also unjustified

My thoughts on performances:
Ref very disappointing. Typical nz in that slow to give Adelaide yellow cards. How did Galecovic not get one for preventing a throw in with a rugby tackle?!
Defence good, esp Tratt, Dura and Rossi. Doyle caught out a few times.
Lia usual steady self. Roly frustratingly too many touches before finding space. A couple of good passes. Kosta frustrating as well.Touches inconsistent. Did make some things happen though and prob would have scored that one two with a decent pass from Watson.
Roy our best, always determined to make a difference. Finkler, not so determined, but nice nutmegs and great free kick. Watson tries hard. Parkhouse and A Rod no impact.

Galecovic excellent, saved his team.
