So, prediction-wise, I feel quite happy.

I called the result.

I called the goal difference.

Utterly magnificent effort lads!

To all the doubters, and as I have often said...

ALWAYS remember,

We are the Mighty Phoenix! We can beat anyone!

WSW my ass....

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Well in boys - Stein has been really good the past few weeks and not just the goals either

Missed that; what happened?

And think it's been obvious to everyone that it was just a matter of time before we finally got some luck and the goals went in.

Brockie still a worry, though.

superb shift over the last 3 weeks - might start to expect things again

was reduced to listening on the radio - they either had eyesight issues or were drugged because they hardly seemed to know or care what was happening

but hey - hard for them to spoil such a great effort

pretty crazy all our wins so far in this 3 week run -with 2 away games (and some big injuries)

What's even better for Ernie is the signings he's made all seem to be working out well. In tonights game Hicks, Riera and Ridenton were all quite good and will likely only get better.

Fuck this stupid game

Stands to reason we need more of our regulars to be injured, so we can win the league with our second-string backup reserve team.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

MOTM to nufc_nz for his correct prediction of a 3-1 Phoenix victory

Yep, best game I've seen from Riera. He seems to be learning not to dive in so much.

Thought Riera was better than quite good. One of our best.

Me too with the radio - worse commentary I've heard in a long time  (and yes that includes De Jong).

What I like about Riera is his ball control and ability to make a quick pass

So crucial under pressure.

Has stepped up to the A league standard quickly

Yeah Riera was clearly the better of the 3 I was just saying as a group they were decent.

Exciting. Finally. Chances are being finished. Still would love a clinical striker.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

First game I can ever remember not saying 'FFS Lia!'

Did transfer that call to Boxall's first half dozen underhit touches..but he got better.

He is also taking the pressure off the defence. Durante Was tops tonight too but hardly rated a mention cause the mid is working well

Wow, thought this one would be a bridge too far -- hope they take this momentum to the finals

I thought WSW would be better, my prediction was 2:3

It good to see them play like that and score, great start to the new year.

hernandez who! (just jokes) well kinda - last three games we've not been able to rely on our starsm Ifill, Hernandez - both injured or slowed due to injury. So Stein steps up and delivers 4 goals in 3 games, Boyd steps up and assist with two and tonight scores one of his own. Brockie better work rate tonight but nothing in goal scoring position really. Reira just gets better and better, even hicks looked prety good. Ridenton too. The young guys coming through the nix ranks are finally showing they have the goods.

I'd be worried about my starting spot if I was Brockie, Boyd is looking hungry and he's been the creator and scorer of 3 of the last four goals we've scored.

If this is what the future of the nix looks like the enxt two home games are going to be mint!

Just saw the goals again.

1: Boyd will be stoked to have the monkey off his back

2: They got caught in possession cause as Covic said they coasted and Stein delivered on his favoured leg

3: How good was that pass from Ridenton to Brockie and the finish from Stein - its like he was taking the piss.

We won the game but for so long, it was looking dour or them to take it. I think a lot of this credit for this performance must go to the coach Ernie. For the entire season he has said 'stand by me' and its looking to come together even when most of us fans have said 'playoffs are done' (even on the podcast). He has stuck by some players that we as a fan group would have jettisoned (and Brockie was still MIA tonight even thought we won) and we are playing good football and are tough to breakdown. The goals are starting to come as well even on the road against one of the best teams in the league. How many teams will take 5 points against WSW and be unbeaten by them?

How good does this feel knowing that CCM are coming to face us at home and they are not exactly in the form of old nor have McGlinchey - perfect timing!!

The downside is that for the 3rd game on the trot, we lose a player and suspect it could be for a while (as much as none of us would like that). Thats the 3rd pop of a shoulder in 4 months and really, you need to take some serious time out to sort that. Ask Benji Marshall about his shoulders and what happens when you play through. All he has to do is fall over and he is busted. The Phoenix need to treat this time round with a lot more seriousness and judging by the ease in which it popped, how did he play this week?

I thought Sigmund was immense tonight. Our back line looks so much more organised from last year - where thats a confidence or a coach thing who knows but don't mess with it. The Hicks for Ridenton sub was strange but that pass for the 3rd goal was worth it even if Ridenton did not much else.

Its great to feel bulletproof.

Caught the last 20 or so minutes live. Wow. That felt goooood.  And more so because WSW have one helluva crowd there supporting them. To beat them at home, massive.  And yes Ernie said have faith and he has been proven right.  Loving it.  Happy to bed now.

Hey you bastards I'm still here.

I think Brockie is too much of a Maverick and is now struggling to fit in.

The defence is looking more solid because we aren't having as many bomb scares in the midfield

Gotta go with Ernie as MOTM,thought his subs were brilliant.Doubted his subbing of Hicks at halftime as thought he was going okay, but Ridenton just gave a bit more.Boyd continues to bring that x factor when coming on,despite the way he is playing prefer to see him coming off the bench at this stage and running at a tired defence he may not have the same impact if starting.
