I'm pretty positive about Hicks. He has given the ball away too many times but he creates quite a few problems for the opposition and his workrate is really high keeping him involved in the game a lot.

Yeah I don't have any majors re Hicks either - in fact has probably exceeded my expectations in one of two areas. Like the way he gets involved.

Expectation is the key there I think. Imo Hicks and Cunningham have performed fairly similarly, but when one came to us a key marquee player, world cup starter, and the other came to us as a plumber, that's always going to colour how they're viewed.

Agreed, waiting for that Kenny performance that will even resemble a Costa Rican international

Not sure we are playing him in his best position tbh. He doesn't look comfortable being in the middle of the park in the narrow diamond, he would probably be more suited playing wider.

His crossing has been fairly rubbish too though when he has got into wider positions. IMO We would have got a lot better return from playing Leo where he has been played.

Need more leo. Id back him to do more than Kenny

I know slightly off topic. I'm flying in to wellington tomorrow morning for this game. Where would be the best place to go to buy some phoenix merchandise.

A Nix shirt with Huysegems printed on the back will take care of most of that

Definitely RYOS. They do shirt printing but takes about a week so probably won't be ready by the time you leave. $20 for a name (regardless of amount of letters) and $15 per number. Official A-League font.

Even without McClinchey and Flores there are still plenty of good players in that CCM squad. This will not be be an easy 3 points as some are hinting. CCM are our bogey side. Over here I think their last four games have given them three wins and a draw.....plus we have real trouble scoring against them. We are the form team but that counts for little in the A-League.

Hang on: no membership card, no fridge magnet, no secret handshake, and no songsheets. Sounds like Yellow Fever Inc. is a complete shambles and needs some direction. By happy coincidence, I'm jobless and homeless at present.  :)

IMO they only hate football in headlines etc. They are a big contributor  to the Nix as well as a lot of other sports they portray in an a bad light from time to time. Bad News not HARD NEWS sells papers.

You could think that this match would be very hard to call....you would be right. All the dramas around signings, re-signings, injuries, not-really injuries, who's in, who's out, current Champions, new groundsman, will it rain? will it be windy, where are we? Who am I? etc. etc.

Not famed for being a shrinking violet in these matters, however, I am prepared to venture onto this hypothetical limb.

Bugger the consequences.

So here we go....

THE Prediction is here!

The Fortress is being re-built, The Blessed Ernie is now well in charge, Carlos and Jezza are well overdue for success....

The Mighty Phoenix 4 (no less!). Them Others 0. (Mossy on top form)

Always remember faithful Feverites...

We are the Mighty Phoenix. We can beat Anyone!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

the difference in American football is that every single play begins with a standing start.

Only ones with a true standing start are in the line of scrimmage, and I doubt those boys are posting good 40 yard times.
Perhaps the tight-ends may come into reckoning on your comment though to be fair. They don't move a lot before the snap and sometimes have to put the foot down.
