No Phoenix win against Central Coast since 22 August 2010 (3 1/2 years) apparently - so will be quite an achievement to get one over them.

Memory lane (Bertos and Ifill scorers in 2-0 win):

Video highlights of that game (cracking Ifill goal): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyUVkckZ88g

Photos from that game (this guy has heaps of quality Phoenix photos you can buy):

Dunno about that, Waffles does come in for a lot of criticism. But unlike Lia, the criticism does have some basis for it.

no basis for Lia's criticism, mate you having a laff right? what abnout all the balls he passes to the opposition that lead to scoring opportunities. Early this season he'd give at least 2 a game away.....this has thankfully disappeared in recent weeks

Ifill's goal in that 2010 game was a screamer iirc, that was the one he smashed with the outside of his left to curl just inside the right post.

Lia is not perfect, he is a distinctly average A-League player but gets excessive amount of abuse for what he does. He can have a perfectly decent game and people will still abuse his performance. Yes there is basis for some of the criticism he cops but on the whole, a lot of it unjustified.

With Waffles, when he does cop criticism people tend to provide basis for their opinions rather than just abusing his performance for the sake of it.

He gets abuse for what he does not do as well. Plus he is a bit of a thug.

Bit of a thug? You do realise he hasn't had a yellow card in 20 games.

'Matt' Muscat with an assist there for Leo...

also watching the interplay in the lead up to that goal just reminds me what terrible defensive hacky longball we used to play under Ricki..*cough cough

Nightmare night for defenders coming up with wind peaking during the game at 100kph, so not so confident now. Might suit Brockie though to pick up some scraps. I know the way we play will mean some blips along the way here,  but can't afford to be tonight.

On a windy night my advice to Brockie would be to aim just outside the goal.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

with his form at the moment, he should aim at the goal so it goes outside the goal so it goes in the goal.

With his form he should aim 10 feet under the goal. 60% of the time, he is bound to be on target every time.

With the kids getting in free, do they get issued tickets with PAX numbers or do they  just get to walk in?

They get tickets issued, so I assume get a PAX. Don't think you can get the kids free tickets when you walk up today, hopefully people don't turn up expecting to be able to.

The weather is crap, it's a 7pm kick off, casual fans just can't be fuked turning up this late on a howling Sunday evening. I'm a season holder and I can't even be bothered. But being the only game today FFA were always going to play it at a time suitable for an Aussie audience.

Crowd will be under 7000.

Feels like such a long time since our last home game, again!

I hope the wind doesn't factor in too much for our boys shooting at goal. Or cost us a win.

(Stating the obvious) Looking at the results so far this round its some good and some bad for us, so we really need to take the win and 3 points today.

Masters Grade aint no run in the park on a Saturday...

Checking out the table and the next few rounds this is must win. Frustrating that we can win 4 in row and still be 9th but at least we will still be right in the mix at 16 points with only 4 points separating us and Victory on 20. We have a couple of really hard games coming up so against Victory here and Brisbane away so points will be hard to come by and we need to try to remain within touching distance to recover in case we pick up not many if any points for two weeks.

Really hope we can fuck hurt victory when they come, we are the coach killers! We could probably get Muscat sacked!

We can do it! They are nothing without Arnold, Mac and Flores.
