Is there a YF endorsed pre-match hostelry of choice for the imbibing of frosty alcoholic beverages in the locale of the stadium?

For the U20s final I parked at the one of the Park and ride stops on the busway and caught the bus the last couple of stops.  Free parking and free bus to the match.

Thanks HN for that idea, sounds brilliant. Just ordered my tickets to Auckland and Christchurch games, not just gotta do the airfare thing for CHCH as I am driving to Auckland. Might do so from Hastings, so Coops, if you are interested? Drive up in the morning and drive back after the game? After all the travel of the last 7 days I am up for it.

Is there any particular part of Block 3 - Row number? that core Welly Fever have got a block booking?

I'd prefer to be nearby in the event that seating gets enforced (home away blues!)

Mine are Bloc 3 Row N 12 - 15.

So either book near, or as far away from that, as you want.

Deloras, I rung the 09 number in the email quoted from Warwick Hunt, and spoke to Mathew - he was excellent and sorted my tickets immediately Just neded to have my membership number handy. He emailed the tickets through within about 10 minutes.

Sorted (and very easily sorted).

Row O 3-6. Close enough to share the atmosphere, far enough away to pretend I don't know you :)

Haha. Bar owner I know in Newmarket tells me Westfield own half the properties in Nuffield St (Ork's newest Rodeo Drive) and as well as charging like a wounded bull for the lease they insist the leasees do a complete refurb every five years whether needed or not.

Sound familiar?

difference is I guess they do not tell the to do it a  a year before existing lease expires without it even being in the lease document when no other clients of Westfield have to renovate

Aussie leasees get 20 years before refurb required.

That's wierd... I am buying a group of tickets for my mum and her friends who live in Auckland. I just called Ticketmaster, and spoke to helpful Matt (He seems to be their Brenda equivalent) and asked if getting 8 tickets together in Bloc 4 would be an issue. He said there were NO TICKETS AT ALL available in Bloc 4. So I asked him about Blocs 5,6 and 7 and he said yeah heaps of room there...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Btw. it's actually "Bloc", not "Block:". There's no "k" in "Bloc 5". The signs at QBE North Harbour Stadium a.k.a. The Castle, have no "k" s.

They cannot play the game there. They have to move it to Mt Smart or Eden Park.

Is someone at the Phoenix not watching these TV games?

Plenty of A-League games have been played on terrible pitches, I just hope it doesn't injure any of our players.

You can't really change a venue after selling tickets unless its really drastic, also can you get another stadium at such short notice?

Well, finally, after being given the run-around for five days and finally needing the intervention of Nix Head of Marketing herself (thanks, Kyla!) I've got my tix - Bloc 3, row H.

Can someone go to QBE and tell us what colour the pitch is, on a scale of "grass" to "concrete"?

It's algae green, with smudges of Karatane Yellow insterspersed throughout.

Is it in a state likely to cause injury to a player from either side? They have had enough warning to prepare a decent pitch.

Well going on what I saw last night on the news, the groundsman should be sacked. They have had plenty of warning about various games coming up and it isn't like the ground is used 24/7.

The last time I saw a pitch that bad was in a documentary about some out of the way village in Africa

You may have spoken to the Phoenix so probably know more than me. All I know is MS has been contacted to prepare as a back up venue and QBE told a decision would be made today. Both venues' turf are managed by the same company btw
