So this is probs gonna be our strongest XI til Jan. Could argue Rufer > Pennington lineup (6).png142.66 KB
My opportunistic jokes about Rufer aside, he will be a key player early on in the season in the reshuffled team without Taylor and Davila.
How do you put Pennington ahead of Rufer - he hasn't even played a game yet. How do we know he is stronger. Also he's more a playmaker apparently, so it would be Lewis more likely to make way with Rufer doing the graft.
With the team now relocated to NSW. Can we expect some pre season games against A league teams? I'd be surprised if we are not in line to play Sydney some time over the next two weeks.
I would assume so, considering also there is no quarantine to be had Ranix

Yea we have 3 pre season games vs A-League teams. One of the players said it in an interview, i think?
EDIT: I've tried to find it, but can't think who it could have been. I can't even find a recent interview other than the Academy boys. It might have been a very specific dream??

The Western v Jets FFA Cup game has been scheduled for the 13th, so wouldn't be surprised if we play the winner of that game before the AL season starts.
Wellington Phoenix @aleaguemen go straight into a pre-season game against Central Coast Mariners tomorrow. They will also play Sydney FC in Western Sydney Wanderers before the season starts.
4 straight clean sheets for Sail & Paulsen. Our defense might not be bad after all.
Next two pre season games will be a better test of our defence. WSW then Sydney FC.
WSW beat Macarthur 3-2 over the weekend. Hemed and Davila got on the scoresheet for their respective teams.
Three friendlies played, three friendlies lost for Macarthur. Add that to the whole vax/anti-vax drama going on there at the minute... it's not a happy football club to work at right now.
Was this after his first goal (diving header!) against Del Piero FC?
Phoenix's Louis Fenton celebrates his goal with the fans. 2012/13 Hyundai A-League football match, Wellington Phoenix FC v Sydney FC at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, New Zealand. Saturday 6th October 2012.
2 weeks till we kick off and still no news on memberships or broadcast info in NZ!? I realise there are probably loads of things to sort out but this is getting a little silly.
