    F**k Sky Sports.

You bombard us with adverts about how brilliant and far reaching your live football coverage is within our shores.

And yet on a day when there was a league game that could have a direct effect on whom might might win the damn thing, my viewing options on your "4 dedicated sports channels" were...

1)Carp Fishing...Ooh excuse me, 'EXTREME' Carp Fishing
    2)A Spanish cup game
    3) And last but not least, your ubiquitous late nite "special" - **PGA GOLF**

    (4) Was gonna have a moan about your Netball coverage and the missus is probably gonna get mad about this , but, phwooarrrr, some of the ladies from *Northern Thunder and Yorkshire Jets* are definitely on point !! lol

    Regardless, COYS!!!!

One assumes this was a game that Sky UK had the rights to and then didn't screen? Or did one of the Sky competitors have it?

iSky gives you on-line access to anything on the channels you subscribe to for no additional cost. I wish I'd remembered this for the Dunedin game, when I was at a hotel not carrying SS3... d'oh! Could have watched it on-line legally. (I waited for the delayed coverage on SS2 at 8am the next day.)

SKY just decided that tennis is more important than the football, so changed their schedule 15mins before their advertised live coverage of the A-League was scheduled to start to delay it by half an hour. f**k you Sky, f**k you.

In all fairness the tennis was  on first, and most kiwis wouldnt give anymore of a sh*t for a non Phoenix A-League game than they would for whats on at the moment.

This time I understand why they are showing tennis instead. If they had advertised that the game would be delayed on the guide earlier (as there was a high chance of tennis coverage going late) I would be more okay with it, I had to change plans at the last minute because I was counting on live TV coverage.

in this instance I feel sorry for sky, they planned to play both the tennis and a-league live, due to one going over time the a-league was delayed and you still moan.???

I've been in this situation before, and was subscribed to iSky and can confirm the following:

    • You need to sign up to Sky Multi-Room to get Sports on iSky
    • Watch your data caps. iSky chews through your data in no time and leaves you with either a big big at check out, or no data on your vodem if you are using that
    • Is quite unreiable if you are on a mac

Google recently bought You Tube and have created a branch called You Tube TV. They have negotiated rights with some Movie/TV production companies to broadcast movies etc on You Tube TV. The word now is that the next step will be to move into sport...with football high on the list. So its highly probable that your scenario of pay to view for individual high quality games WILL happen one day.

Google is one of the worlds largest and richest companies.....they would piss all over the likes of Sky etc when it came to buying rights.

When this happens we can all happily dance on Sky's grave.

It seems logical doesn't it, in these days of being able to download individual apps and services rather than getting a whole package of stuff of which you only need a fraction?

I see on our SONY Bravia (Nix sponsor plug#1) that we recently got there is also SONY internet - which I haven't actually connected up to see what it is.

In terms of Sky not wanting to lose revenue, you could also look at it that people like Ahmad and I don't want to pay mega bucks for lots of sky channels that we won't use, but would pay a disproportionately greater amount for selected products.

On my Vodafone mobile internet stick, it chews up data. I watched a game and it took about 1.5gigs, which is about $40 of the $50 plan.

Just got iSky up and running, watching CCM vs Newcastle. Am very impressed with the quality. Will only have to watch other streams when Sky are not showing the games live now.

Yeah that was a joke. My exact words when I saw it were "who gives a **** about tennis doubles!?" and then yes, I made a point about the size of the crowd as well, about 30 people...Ridiculous stuff from Sky and I ended up not watching the game because of it.

If Sky were to add another sports channel, Sky Sport 4, most of these issues would simply go away and Sky could make all their potential viewers happy.

Gold Coast V CCM game tonight delayed till 2am tomorrow.  Not sure why they are showing cricket highlights when they could put the game on (still delayed) at 11:30pm after the Aussie NBL match. Golf and Aussie open tennis on the other sport channels.

And what is this they may not show the All Whites game.  Get on twitter http://twitter.com/skysportnz  facebook  http://www.facebook.com/skysportfootball   and email to ask https://skytv.custhelp.com/app/ask

GCU v CCM is in doubt because of the weather in Aussie, so might be a moot point if it gets called off.

possibly, but still get in touch with them and tell them how much we want the All Whites on tv.

I highly doubt that they will not show the All Whites game, in the past thru have secured coverage very late but they always seem to show them. Especially with it being a home match, they will probably send their own crew there.

Not so sure we love Mel for her broadcasting skills...coincidentally, there's was talk of starting a YF campaign to bring Mel for a game at the RoF at the end of last season, but it just petered out in the end.
