All 5 games this weekend are LIVE. The three on Sat are on SS2 and the two on Sun are on SS1. Here's hoping that my hotel has SS2 on the TV, or that there is a bar somewhere that'll show the games for us.

Ive tried some reverse psychology on Sky and emailed them thanking them for showing Matchday Saturday this weekend, and hoping it continues for the rest of this season and beyond. Wonder how theyll reply

All games this weekend are LIVE again. Haven't been able to check the Guide for Monday night's Heart vs Adelaide game yet, but I assume it will be live as there us no other sport on.

Sent them a little twitter love to balance out the twitter complaints from earlier in the season.

Allegedly

I did the same earlier. Figured it would be good to show them that we do love them (when they give us what we want)

Probably helps they still dont have NRL rights yet (or has that been sorted?)

They were showing pre-season games, so I think it might have been sorted? Haven't heard anything official though.

And even if they were showing NRL, the A-League would just be bumped to the Highlights channel, and we would still get to watch it. Opening up the HL channel to live sport has been a fantastic thing, can't commend Sky enough for it.

According to the NRL twitter account the rights in NZ have yet to be sorted.

NRL fans bombing the sky sport facebook page.

Really enjoying the coverage.  Shame it's not rating on throng.   Where is the replay of the Dunners game?  Can't see it on schedule or the highlights channel.

there was a replay at 1.30pm yesterday. I think that's the only one scheduled.

Now that the NRL is back on Sky, Friday and Saturday night's game have been shifted to the Highlights channel. Much better situation that what would have happened two months ago, were the A-League would have just been delayed instead.

Highlights channel has to be the worst channel ever. I dont think ive ever watched it

Permalink Permalink

Biggest problem with it is that it is not HD.

Also it's not on the isky and basically not any any hotels or motels.

if your staying in a hotel and want full sports coverage - look for hotels on this site - www.guestselect.co.nz

These hotels have a decoder in every room and the same services you have at home.

The only thing that keeps me on sky is the Phoenix and the A -League. Would drop it if a alternative reliable source was available.

For me there is not a single sport you can capture the essence of by watching a cruddy 20-something minute highlight package. Except maybe 7's, but thats not even a real sport in my eyes. I cant even watch delayed sport knowing in my mind that its already been played.

Ditto with the exception of QPR's short stay in the EPL. Although I would also miss, Discovery, CI & National Geo channels as we almost live on them too.

Havent watched CI myself since To Catch A Predator finished. Always felt it wouldve been more suited to Comedy Central ...

They must have got the rights on the cheap, can't see them paying too much for a football match that not many people will watch. I'm not complaining though, the more football, the better!

Especially when most probably don't know where Soweto is.

Yeah, was on the "Highlights" Channel. Good game on the crapiest pitch around. likewise the Sydney game, Played on after an NRL game dug it up.

The Little Red is on the Highlights channel tonight, but the Big Blue is delayed on SkySports 2. They have live Hockey on the Highlights channel at 11pm, so showing highlights after the Little Red until that starts instead of showing the Big Blue live.

But I see they have SkySports 4 on the online guide now, maybe they are adding another channel?

Additional channel for in-car shots of F1.
Shame, was hoping they might actually have been listening to us.

So annoying the main game of the weekend is not even on live! Reds v Force on instead. Even rugby fans don't care about that game!

And hockey FFS! Garbage!
