Well done Tim, looking forward to seeing your 100th game in the yellow and black shirt.

Depends what you mean by home grown. Think he was born in England?

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

in my opinion he's really been playing well lately. Has been getting more and more time on the ball and doe actually often distribute quite well. He plays to his strengths which is what makes a good player. Hope he doesn't get a yellow in our next two games

The reason he goes MIA during the game is because he's thinking about his next goal celebration!

Gotta love em!

I didnt see the celebration in the distance tonight.

He really stepped it up again as captain and moved well forward. I thought with just Lia we may have got exposed but they adapted well and found more time on the ball. Choice!

He has become a great footballer over the past few seasons

wasn't impressed when he chipped the ball over the left back trying to get marco to run on to it when marco wanted it at his feet [he is the best player in the team with ball at feet after all] then laid into marco for not being on the same page as him. probably better ways to address that than yelling at the young fella.

Fuck this stupid game

Although the whole "post World Cup hangover" thing was written off as nonsense, I reckon Brownie might have been suffering it seems to have taken him half the season to really getting going.

Earlier on he was frustrating the hell out of me, but like I what we're seeing from him now.

He's been scoring crackers for the last month and a half

Nothing too different to last season - scores good important goals but goes missing for long parts of the game and gives away the ball too easily/passing isn't up to scratch

I agree with the observation, but it's not because of the World Cup.  Vince Grella broke Brown's shoulder in a so-called "friendly" before the tournament.  In hindsight, bringing Brown to South Africa was probably for sentimental (psychological?) reasons.

Yeah he was never back to his best straight after the injury and was critcized for not having scored enough goals, but he's flying now.

I think he had a lot more time on the ball in this game rather than others, and this is due to the fact that there was only him and Lia in the middle.

I also think he seems to disappear a lot because he is constantly moving up and down the pitch and this generally is dragging players and opening up spaces for others

Tim ran from the edge of our penalty box to get on the end of greenies cross and put it away. A guy who can do that starts every game in my book.

there will always be people on here who fail to understand what Timmo brings to the team

they are probably people who spend the entire game focussed on the ball

too many people watch the ball, not the work he does off the ball.

If we could merge Lia, Brown and Manny together we'd have a complete midfielder

Lacks a decent shot, creativity (Manny and Lia show glimpses) and pace, but pretty much the perfect holding/box to box player.

This is because the Jest were absolute garbage, especially in the first half.

Hest were terrible made lia look better than he has been all season, more often than not his passing is speculative at best, he defends well, but is rpetty much useless in attack, manny by far the best at DM than brwon and Lia, Briown at least offers something on attack and distrubution...I'd rather see ward on the field than Lia.

hmmm....weeel...I was impressed with him on the ball last game he had, but seen him lose out in contests too often. But yeh, thanks for pointing out that he deserves that credit.

Ward over Lia? not sure. Only if Manny is around I'd say.
