Have a look at the competition table. See how tight it is? I am afraid no one is in a position at the moment to "give some one a go to see how they fare" It is a hard fact of life in any foortabll team (in any code) you have got  to be better than the incumbent to get your chance unless through injury. This is a fact i learnt at about 12 years old.
Yes Tim has deficiencies in his game and he has struggled a bit with a different role, but at the moment, he is still to valuable to the team not to be in the squad and anyone who has scroed 20 odd goals (he has actually scored more than Iffil from open play) is hardly a poor player.

but he's not....he's been in some of the worst form this season, you are yet to prove that your opinion is actually justified - therefore it remains ill informed and therfore shall be regarded as inept or stupid.

He cant tackle, or when he does its a stupid yellow card. like fatboynotsoslim said. it took him 50 minutes before he did anything. if he was good he would be controlling the midfield and dominating the space around him. Hes not doing so Lia has to do his work for him. NewCastleGuy2012-01-19 10:43:12

Tim Brown is not a poor player. He is not currently in great form but he still has scored some spectacular and important goals this season. He is however IMO playing currently playing in a position that does not suit his set of skills.....and for that the coach should take some of the blame.

There is a big difference between criticising a poorly performing player and indulging in some sort of vitriolic witch hunt........some people have crossed that line.
Good post. I can agree with this Zinidane and to be honest I have probably come around to that in the last few days regarding Brown and as much as I am not a SigmUnd fan, I have watched him over the last 4 weeks and thought he has been immense for us and come around a bit on him as well. (More on SigmUnd another time)

I always viewed Brown as a DM but someone pointed out in another post that there is a bit of cross pollination between him and Sanchez as such. So I looked at it again thought 'well he actually is a box to box midfielder' and not the DM I used to think he is. So then when you look at the where he plays in the lineup, I can see why he gets bagged because his skill set is good and he is in form but is he in the best position to be effective for what the Phoenix need? He does put in a truck load of mileage. Dropping him is not the answer and I think Ricki would be well versed in asking what do we need, what do we have what do we want to achieve and how does this guy fit in there.

New Zealand Football is not who you know, its who you blow. Ricky needs to stop playing his favorites and give youngsters a go such as Lindsay. Obviously if they're not up to the standard go back to the original line up
Of course it is. Thats how these talented players in other countries like Boxall and Fitzgerald got their crack, the likes of Smith, McGlinchy and Reid whose elligibility to NZ was unknown and got their crack. They popped up of the woodwork one day and said 'Rick, I'll suck you off and you pick me'.

You really are a complete muppet. At least I'm not in sole ownership of cock of the forum cause you are doing well to take my title.

Surely that should be "i've told you my reasons why i think hes sh*te"?

No need to thank me, just trying to help.

With comments like that, I don't really think I need to say anymore. I could take your argument to pieces but..... well that statement is laughable.

Timmy is  why we can only ever really play 1 striker lol, because he is the other one. :But yeah he's all up in sanchez's space lately. But if he hangs back he wont score, then what does he bring to the table lol. Its difficult but i still rate his goals.

Totally agree. Thing is with Brown as soon as he passes the ball he disappears. I think I've ever only once seen him get a ball back after giving it, and he only ever gives 5 yard passes so it's not hard to get it back. It frustrates the fu*k out of me when he doesn't show for the ball but stands and watches and waits for someone else to give an option. Any player that passes the ball and then heads straight for the box is always going to give himself a chance to score.

Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.
