On my phone the afterwords "brought to you by" seemed to stall with big gaps in between. Maybe it was just my phone being a twit.
Enjoyed the discussion, as usual. Funny that the catch at the cricket happened just as you wrapped up the goalkeeping situation.

Nah it's not your phone, I made a mistake on the edit, chucked the wrong file up. Plan on fixing it tonight.

Fixing the fifteen seconds or so of silence at the beginning as well?

Though that was the best bit. I can totally understand how you got that award now.

Ok glad I'm not the only one that had blanks in the pod. Otherwise another good pod after another disappointing result.

Started off thinking "Cool, hidden track" ... "ooh another one", ended up at "5 encores? W*nkers! That media award's gone to their heads"

I'd forgotten about the silence at the start too. When I heard it, I was suspicious, thinking:
a) the pod has come out surprisingly early in the week
b) we produced another sharke 4 - 0 performance on Saturday
c) therefore the pod is just five minutes of silence in mourning.

but then it started... and all was well

I'm just about to listen to it. Pray for me, I'm going in....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I just thought that like the team, the pod crew didn't show up this week either.

Shout out to the pod crew and particularly hard news for how you all handled the discussion of the protest, diplomacy isn't often used between nix fans with differing opinions so fair play to you lot. I myself will also opt to stay in the fever zone tonight but each to their own

I'm hoping for more than "A couple".But who knows? So be it. Democratic  process in action. That's  partly why I love New Zealand.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

My comment about "a couple" was intended to be mentioning the leaders i.e you and Hatter, not the total number of attendees. Should have articulated that better, sorry!

No issues from me Patrick. I love democracy and this site is showing it in action. Brilliant.

The pod should be a positive one this week.

Hopefully most of it will be spent talking about that Singh goal. The more I watch it in slow motion, the more I appreciate how he scored it. Brilliant.

This week, Dave was in attendance at a meeting in Sydney between FIFA and various other representatives of fan groups around Australia, representing Yellow Fever. FIFA wanted to talk to supporter groups as part of their process around reform of the FFA at board level.

Fair to say he'll be reporting back with all the goss on the pod this week. We are recording tomorrow night.

Just read Dave's posts about the meeting, looking forward to hear more about it on the Pod. I wonder if anything brought up in discussions helped us figure out how likely it is for the Nix to survive past the end of next season.

The Phoenix finally chalked up another A-League victory, thanks to a sharkty penalty and a late winner. Dave's been over in Sydney talking to FIFA about FFA, we get the goss on what was said and what the outcome might be. Back home, Fritz Schmid is about to be announced as the new All Whites coach, and Canterbury have confirmed a place in the Handy Prem semis.

Great pod as usual.

Question for Patrick.  If you think Castro made sure there is contact, how do you think its a pen?  Surely that means it's a pen the other way as Castro is making sure there is contact by moving towards and (seemingly) diving at the player, he's the offender.

My thinking is that Galloway ran in in a careless manner, arrived late and committed a foul. I don't believe Castro dived into Galloway, I think it was going to be a penalty anyway but Castro made sure of it.

If it was basketball could almost be a charging foul. Also watching the replay, hard to tell if initial contact was made outside of the box.

Didn't see the game last night, but judging from online reaction, it was awful. I really hope the night was saved by YF turning up en masse to ruin Patrick's 'date' at 4Kings, or that Patrick was alone, but produced a child's movie ticket to prove he'd been in someone else's company.

Yeh, the soap opera element of the podcast leaves us waiting for the next instalment. The football element not so much.

Darije won't be around next season, so the pod speculate who coul possibly take over the reigns at the Nix and what that person needs to bring to the role. The 1-0 loss the Mariners was shark, but both TeeDubs and Auckland City are tracking nicely in the OFC Champions League.

Thanks for easing my mind about the license situation and how we probably won't get cut. Hppefully we can start improving next season.. But results are ultimately the #1 arguing point for why we need to stay, so results reSULTS RESULTS!

definitely, the best ever pod,

Not 4 guys sitting around a table tickling each other's balls

More of that
