The work FFA has done to get the game to happen on Sunday should be enough to make it happen.

I'm a bit confused. All going to plan, who will we be playing on Sunday?
- Gold Coast United
- the team formerly known as Gold Coast United
- a bunch of blokes helping FFA out by playing in jerseys that look remarkably like those that the now defunct Gold Coast United used to play in. Actually the faces look familiar too, but hey.

Gold Coast United, funded by FFA rather than Palmer. Apart from who's paying, there will not be much of a difference.

Media release from FFA tonight. Game is on!

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has tonight welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court of Queensland in relation to the matter brought by Gold Coast United FC Pty Ltd. Justice Dolton refused Gold Coast United FC Pty Ltds application for an injunction.

The ruling will ensure that;

The Week 22 Hyundai A-League match Wellington Phoenix v Gold Coast United will be played at Westpac Stadium on Sunday as scheduled (2.30pm AEST)

The rules and regulations of the Hyundai A-League will be upheld

The integrity of the competition has been protected

FFA CEO Ben Buckley said tonight:

The FFA was well prepared for this outcome and tonight have activated a plan to run the Gold Coast team this Sunday.

We have appointed Tom Sermanni, the Westfield Matildas coach, to coach the team this Sunday. Tom is a highly experienced club coach and will join the Gold Coast players tomorrow for their preparations.

The players are ready to travel to Wellington tomorrow morning. I thank the PFA for their assistance and cooperation in this matter.

In particular, I pay tribute to the players who have shown great professionalism and dedication over these past days.

Their desire to play football and complete the season with dignity has been inspiring.

http://www.skysport.co.nz/article/football/headlines/phoenix-must-stay-focused-57677/

"There was a little testiness to the rest of the session however, with strong tackles going in and a few heated words when passes went astray or scoring chances were missed.

"I think it's really encouraging to see a few tackles going in, a bit of nastiness in the camp," said Greenacre.

"With four games to go it shows the boys have still got that hunger and desire."

"We're all the best of friends away from it. In there (the pitch) that's where it all happens and from time to time there are fights, arguments and all that kind of stuff. If we're getting that at this stage of the season it's a great attribute to have and it shows how hungry we are to be successful."

Justice Jean Dalton refused the application for an injunction about 7.45pm.

She ruled the wearing of the "Freedom of Speech" slogan was not a material breach of the club participation agreement, but Mr Palmer's repetitive comments, particularly on Feburary 19 and 20, were a serious matter and she did consider them to be a materail breach.

Justice Dalton said Gold Coast United had not voluntarily offered an apology or withdrawn comments to the press and had given no indication the comments would continue.

She considered that, had the injunction been granted, that the two parties would have to work closely together, which she did not think was possible.

Justice Dalton said she believed the FFA was well advanced in making arrangements to go ahead with Gold Coast United's remaining fixtures without Mr Palmer's ownership.

Greetings Yellow Fever from GCU land. It's a pretty depressing place here right about now.

Firstly, it's great that Sundays game is going ahead. It wouldn't have been fair for your players/supporters to have missed out on a home game because of lunatic Clives antics.  Infact if any of you follow comments coming from GCU fans for the "life" of our club you'll know that we've been his biggest critic!  Quite simply, Clive has destroyed the game on the Gold Coast through his outrageous running of GCU.

The reason I'm posting here is to implore all Nix supporters to be sympathetic to the plight of the GCU players on Sunday. This is a horrible situation for them especially and they deserve the support and understanding of the football family. Check this story out to really understand the situation these guys now find themselves in.  http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/039players-are-the-pawns039/video-e6frf423-1226287150045?sectionvertical=football

Of course, cheer against them as you will during the game but I hope you can also show some empathy for their plight.

Good luck on Sunday.

Completely disagree.

The forecast is for winds to be down to 35 knots gusting 45 by lunchtime and 30 knots gusting 40 by 3pm. That's a normal day in Wellington... we go yacht racing in that, and planes happily land in those conditions.

I'm sure you have most if not all YF's members sympathies.    Horrible time for your club and the A-League.

I'll be clapping when GCU's starting XI are announced at the game.
