I don't think FIFA needs to say anything at all, yet.
All in capable hands...nervous lol.
Anyone can set themselves up as an imaginary "watchdog".

FIFA have their hands full with the murmours in Europe I should have thought.

Nope, I like him. He's probably the second best ref behind Strebre for me.

Flying in from Perth this weekend, will be at the game and have TOLD my mate that we are going to the Backbencher for beers pre-game.

Also Daivd Dome has organised for me to pickup the Brent Griffiths charity shirt I successfully auctioned for in the players changing room pre-game. .

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/6509628/Wellington-Phoenix-expect-to-play-Gold-Coast

"It's game on as far as the Phoenix are concerned, with the A-League club expecting embattled Gold Coast United to make the trip for Sunday's game in Wellington.

Football Federation Australia had not officially confirmed the fixture as of last night, but the Phoenix feel they have dodged a bullet in the form of a postponed game and it will be business as usual at Newtown Park training today."

In a perfect world, yes.

But to be fair to the FFA they couldn't please everyone. They would not have wanted to disadvantage fans from out of Wellington who had already bought tickets and planned and paid for travel... but realisticly it's their job to consider/balance ALL of the factors in play, to to be honest the inconvenience to a relatively small number of travelling Nix fans, while regrettable, is probably massively outweighed by the potential damage to the A League etc. by allowing Clive to keep on keeping on and not revoking his license. I suspect they were cogniscient of the impact on fans, and regretted it, but had to fight the bigger fight, and that in their postion I think it would have been an easy decision to have to make.

When the teams are read out on the PA I think we should clap and cheer every one of the Gold Coast players just like we do the Nix team...

That's so cool that you get to pick it up in the changing room! They weren't obliged to give you a meet and greet, right? Unprompted good-will gestures like that typify the 'new' nix imo. Kudos to Dave D.

We are cheering the players not the organisation. Same as we supported our players during Terry's final months.

I'm a liitle with Greenie. I'd prefer to see applause rather than cheers.

Certainly avoid booing but not the same as our own players get. I reckon polite/nice applause for the duration.

We're talking about at the reading out of the teams before kick off... how can they have done something dodgy on the park by then? We're not talking about cheering or clapping or anything like that for them all through the game... bwtcf2012-03-02 13:56:31

That makes a bit more sense. I think as they walk on and off the field would be fair play as well.

Phoenix-Gold Coast match remains in limbo

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/6513668/Phoenix-Gold-Coast-match-remains-in-limbo

"A decision on whether the match at Wellington's Westpac Stadium will proceed is now not expected until Friday evening at the earliest."

"Both the FFA and Palmer, as well as Gold Coast United's players, are keen for Sunday's match in Wellington to be played and for last-placed United to see out the last four rounds of the A-League competition." - That's got to be good news

You'd think. But then how much do they want to play vs being prepared to have an other party get their way?

All this talk about cheering their players is going to sound very hollow if the game is postponed or cancelled. Because it is basically in the players hands whether this goes ahead.rjmiller2012-03-02 14:30:34

How is it in the players hands? Its all the admin stuff that is putting the game in doubt, nothing the players can do about that.
