Agree with the previous posts.....Greenacre is a fine player. he's just the wrong player for the way the Nix are playing. As we saw in the first game in the wet alongside a tall co-striker Greenacre is very effective player. He pickes up the scraps and does the tap ins and the little layoffs.

Unfortunately his skill set don't really suit the Nix at the moment. Most A-League games are played on dry hard surfaces. The two types of strikers that are affective are the quick nimble guys who can beat defenses....like Brosque and Archie Thompsonor you have the power forwards like Van Dyk or Aloisi.

Greenacre does not have those same abilities....he is niether fast enough or quick of foot enough to beat defenders and he is too small to play the powerstiker game.

I am not bagging the guy coz he he works his arse off and you can tell he really is trying. The cruel facts are that they either get someone upfront who will compliment Greenacre and make him more affective or they drop him for someone else who can play the style that works with the way the Nix attack.

Even Greenie himself would be disappointed with the two scuffed chances in the last two games. The reality is you want strikers who will bury good chances when they come up. i reckon Pav will finish the season as the first choice striker.

When Ifill is constantly hemmed in by three or so opp players surely space has been created elsewhere.Maybe he needs to dummy run a few lines in front of their defenders to drag them in.Or something

That would mean the other players have to actually do something and not just wait for Ifill to create something. We always knew his second season would be harder, just a bloody shame some of his team mates havnt stepped up.

What does Greenacre offer?  He's scuffed two shots in two games.  Potentially 4 points down the gurgler.  In general, I think teams have got us figured out in our endless pursuit to play wide football.  Without a strong, domineering target man in the middle, they can now afford to double up on the likes of Ifill and Bertos.

I'd drop Greenacre, put Ifill into striker, put Pavlovic on from the start to assist him, start going more central than wide, and I'd look to find any way possible to replace Lochhead who is a chronic generator of cheap turnover ball for the opposition.

Finally - someone who gets it.  Agree with everything.
What so Ifill gets to deal with the same crap service Greeacre has to put up with.Gee thats a plan.

I'd be tempted to drop ifill for a couple of weeks.  He really doesn't look 100%, then maybe we get back to playing without relying on him for everything and when he comes back the pressure is off him.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Trouble is even when Ifill is not up to scratch he's still creating more problems for opposition defences than anyone we've got. It was only his wicked swerving cross for Brown's tap in that got us back into the game.

I do think that if Ricki was serious about 'managing' Ifill, as he said he was going to last week, he would've been better to sub him off early-ish. Judging by the amount of time Ifill spent doing stretches during the game he was clearly struggling with fatigue.

problem is if we look toothless without him, it will be obvious that everything depends on him and there will be more pressure/attention on him
