Except he knew how many goals he was going to let in before the games.

True I suppose thaat gave Rush the advantage of knowing how many he had to score to win!

Would that also mean he'd be an import slot.

Being down to 3 next year, we'd be better to grab ourselves a local / aussie keeper.

(i'm assuming we're still talking about who'd be the better #2 keeper at the Nix)

unless he decides to take out citizenship between now and then - maybe the chance of a pro contract would encourage him

I think with Paston as number 1, any 2nd keeper is going to get at least a few games because of injury.

Id take any of the young kiwi keepers.

with the import slots coming down I'd keep warner and make a play for spoonley or basalaj to be no.2 to Pasturbator next season

Also, on Warner, just randomly, was watching the Arsenal 07/08 season review last week and there he was, starting for Fulham against the gunners at craven cottage.
Then last night, was watching the 05/06 season review, and there he was again, starting for fulham.

For the record he was gash in 05/06, let in 2 soft ones in a 4-0 loss, but made some quality saves in the 07/08 game

Warner is not very good, he would struggle in central league.
Fair point Paston is mediocrity at its finest but better than kennedy obviously. would make him the 6th or 7th best starting keeper in a league. he should be proud of that.
You are obviously having a windup. As prof said and having read your other posts, you are a muppet.

We didn't say that. We said he's as good as Warner (or slightly better).

He's a good A-League quality keeper. He's better than Kennedy andmore consistent than Reddy or Theoklitos. He's no Ryan or Galekovic but not many of our players are the best in their roles in the league.

Spot on.

Geordies are the ones with the cigarette packets in the sleeves of their t shirts.  They also say things like "Tits oot" a lot, and believe that drinking Newcastle Brown doesn't give you brain damage.

N.B. I used to drink Newcastle Brown.

Thanks. So where do bogans keep their cigarettes, or will the answer render me unable to sleep for a week?

No Warner in this poll, a bit strange considering he's played more games than Paston.  Moss is in the list.

Who is the best goalkeeper in the A-League?

Comfortably the best keeper in the A-League.

Three for me, and two for them.

For me:
Ryan
Covic
Galekovic (although he's prone to errors more this season than he has been)

Then a big drop to the rest.  Probably a sign of which clubs have the bigger internet yoof following than an accurate poll.

Ryan is a cut above everyone else at the moment. Covic was the standout keeper earlier in the season, but Ryan has pushed above. He is one of the key reasons why CCM are doing so well this season.

Been a pretty impressive season only 11 goals conceded, no doubt due to Ryans efforts but also have to give credit to Zwaanswijk and Wilkinson

Dunno, who would you drop, our two centre backs have also been immense, and there names are far easier to sing about!

Our centrebacks are nothing special. but theyre no where near as bad as Topor-Useless and Tiago, but Ryan comfortably should head to Europe to get a better quality of training and play reserves which would probably kill A-League teams anyway

i think our cb pairing is the best in the league, maybe not skill wise, but they make up for that with determination. i mean our midfield is invisible at times and still our defense saves us so many times.

Nothing special? Aside from physical characteristics, positioning and awareness are key attributes for centrebacks and SigmUnd in particular has both of those by the truck load. 300+ intercepts and 60+ clearances in 18 games isn't the product of mediocrity.
