He should have a chat with Mossy about how well that move worked out for him.

Not unless the Age are sourcing from Wikipedia now, but that sounds more like the NBR.

Well, no, my theory was that the person who made the wiki update might be not entirely unadjacent to whoever the Age's source is.

MELBOURNE VICTORY  Have been doing this since 2005.  They have the pick of Victorian football's best talent in their youth team and then sign everyone elses developing players when they realise their player development is sh*te!

What money they're trying to sell Marco on youth opportunities as well...

No.  Wiki edit was done in Wellington... near the Basin.  The Age are unlikely to have a reporter 'near the Basin'.

Mmmm. If it's an independent source then that makes it more believable and I'm going to go cry now.

I'd be more worried about the Tards if Eddie Krnkevic was in charge. That man knows how to develop young football talent!

Very, very disappointed if he goes, and selfishly hate the thought of it, but wishing him no bad outcomes.
From the Rojas' family point of view,we have actually had him for two seasons already, including injury. He's hot,in the window for all to see, and he's in demand. The instability of Terry's financials and the future of the club looking shaky will probably be the clinchers.
What father/manager, making a recommendation concerning the very best interests and future of his son/client and looking at the evidence on the table right now, wouldn't go elsewhere.
Yes loyalty is one thing, but on the facts as they stand today, we don't even know if the Nix is sorted yet.
If he does go to Victory or another A- League team his first visit back to the RoF will be torrid. We'll see what happens...

maybe YF should get a billboard to let Rojas know how we feel

if he goes to melbourne hope he breaks a leg

(may be a little over the top, but if it wasnt for YF and the nix he wouldnt even have this oppurtunity

Oh wont you stay just a little bit longer
Oh please, please stay just a little bit more

Now the gaffer dont mind
And the fever dont mind
If we have a bit of faith
And there is some give and take and play
One more season

Honestly, if he leaves you hope he breaks his legs? You shouldn't wish that upon anyone let alone a New Zealand footballer!!

Somewhat extreme.

But reflects the degree of betrayal people would feel if this happened (or to any other A-League team)

I think worse than Judas.

Payne has yet to make an appearance at RoF hasn't he? Had some excuse about an injury.

If he goes, I'm sure he's well aware of the reception he'll get when he comes back to the ROF.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

THEN, imagine if we all turned round with that on our backs at the next WP v Victory game at the RoF??!!

Wouldn't begrudge him at all if he went overseas - though I think it would be the wrong move at this stage of his career. Have to put it in perspective - he's only played, what, 10 first grade games? He's been very good, no doubt, but do that for another season. Prove yourself.

I will be extremely f**ked off if he signs for Melbourne or any other A-League club. My view of him will change completely. Was f**ked off when Smeltz left but this will be a lot worse for me.

Quite a lot of people will think the same no doubt (inc me).

I'm putting my bitterness on hold until I see an official decision/announcement.

We'll cope. As said before by others,we've survived Smeltz and Kosta. The blade in the back will cut very close to the bone if Marco goes.
If it happens, definitely up for a significant  "Stabby T "gesture from all of YF, in the future fixture.

If Marco does leave I hope it is for football reasons, rather than an early pay rise. If not here somewhere where his game can develop to its potential; he can then cash in later in his career rather than stagnating on a slightly higher salary than could be earned here.

I can 98% guarantee you that no A-League club will offer more than the Phoenix.  If he goest it won't be about money.

Cant believe he'd leave for footballing reasons.Marco would be a guaranteed starter at the Phoenix, Not sure that would be the case at Melbourne.

I'd imagine a couple of clubs would be in a position to offer more than the phoenix?

I can't see much advantage footballing wise for moving to australia. I'm not saying it'd be for money either.
