I remember his mum used to be on the Oldham Athletic forum when he was at boundary park. Seemed a really nice lady.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

If we were keen on Killen then I would understand why D-Mac would be on his way out. If we had Killen then we wouldn't need him. Other than that, very surprised we didn't offer him a contract.

I hope he stays - it's gonna be much harder breaking his tree-trunk legs....

Anything that comes out of Feverish's mouth when drunk should be ignored.

I reckon we should sniff around the Premier league graveyard for more names like Fowler, just to increase the A-League's pulling power over other similar leagues. With big names, comes big publicity (See Soccernet stories on Fowler) Some people might see it as a step back, but for a (let's face it) struggling club, anything to get into the media, right?

Michael Owen as the club's new target man?

Thought Phoenix has had plenty of media coverage in the last few days...

Pie in the sky stuff. Can we have a sustainable business model first before monetary folly?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Any chance Bear Grylls was talking to Ricki on his recent visit to Wellington?

I don't think we need to trim the squad through 'accidents' in 'extreme training situations'.

I was just thinking that. He is a player I'd definitely like to lock in for next season.

Assuming we are still here at the end of the month and Marco isn't, I think we should look at Brockie. He has year left on his Newcastle contract but conditions have changed quite a bit at Newcastle since he signed. They have a lot more money and Brockie is taking an import spot so I have a suspicion they would be quite happy to let him go.

What is McGlinchey's status?
Permalink Permalink

Not sure, I would love McGlinchy but I can't see him signing. Ricki, at times, played Christie ahead of him FFS. Meanwhile he had an excellent season at CCM and their coach was gushing over him. rjmiller2011-03-04 11:24:47

I'm not sure, he deleted me as a friend :(

..Off contract, but sounds like he would be happy to re-sign. CCM would be silly to let him go, been outstanding this season.Luis Garcia2011-03-04 11:59:35

True, and I suppose it's not much of an attraction to leave that situation to sign with a club whose future is a bit dicey right now.

I would say though, if the loan money comes through, floating a sizable offer at McGlinchy wouldn't be a bad thing. If nothing else it may make CCM have to pay more to keep him.

Not that I know anything, but remember Leo said this before he signed with the Nix.

Ricki should give him the old "Michael, blackmail is an ugly word, but it would a real shame if you never played for the All Whites again....." phone call

Maybe we can offer CCM a "Cash + 2nd Hand TV" deal for McGlinchy
