Discarding the Mehmet issue as that is purely subjective. But the money talk with Ritgers - these 'people in the know' got their information on how we didn't offer enough from where you think?

Look, I could write you an in depth piece about who talked to who, and who ran in to who in the pub but that's hardly the way to respect people who I know, and some I don't.  It's also going to get people in trouble for talking so I'm not likely to name names just because from a fair distance away you chose not to believe what the papers (who are paid to research this stuff) are telling you.

Anyway.  Much as I have enjoyed this distraction.  I'm giving up on work and going home.  I'm sure we'll debate this more tomorrow.

Evening.

LOL hit me up on fb with some more details.

Then why didn't Crowther seek a release and look to play somewhere else if he really wanted first team football?

Interesting reading on the effects of "impending bankruptcy" may have had on recruitment.

I'd tend to say it must have - no one wants to join a sinking ship and unfortunately Terry's word is not that good to sway people.

Players are getting paid right now, but that doesn't mean they will keep getting paid. Could easily turn in to a Plymouth type situation and I don't know too many players as loyal as Fallon to be ok with it.

Surely he knew he wasnt coming in as number one and if things werent going badly he wouldnt get much gametime...

Sounds more like sour grapes than anything that identifies Herberts lack of ability. Crowther and Toto weren't up to standard [IMHO] and Ward did get starts did he not?

Did Reece also claim he could do a fair impersonation of and A-league standard keeper? ...Cos...

How many professional football clubs around the world are currently making money?

I can't think of any...

If anything proves beyond doubt that Ricki does have a clue it's the fact that Crowther and Toto didn't play.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

If I'm part of the Nix Spin Machine, I want to know why my wages haven't arrived yet.

Good old crowther said alot of interesting things, like not to worry about the club - we'll be sweet. He's got offers in Europe and will be signing soon

Also said that RH was frustrating.. was hardly @ training and it was hard to impress him. They didn't get along.

Interesting comments about Herbert. I've heard he doesn't have much time for some journalists either when cofronted head on about certain issues.  I'd dearly love to see the Phoenix with a different coach because I think recruiting policy is severely constrained by RH in favour of foreigners and would potentially be quite different with somebody else. The time for major change at the Phoenix is rapidly approaching I believe. Once again I reiterate the saving potential that could be unleashed by the development of the local, up and coming young players here.

Yeah that guy who coached the u20's would be a total revelation. What with his love of possession football and ability to spot talented players who could do a job in the team..

I presume you are being sarcastic but the guy from the U17s was pretty impressive. Wouldn't throw him in at the a-league but if we have a reserve team playing againt the asb cup teams I would love to get him involved. rjmiller2011-08-30 15:27:29
