there will be a 4 way multi in Bevan and my room, and it will be sweet.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Best option is the one at the travel shop that say South Africa (or SA)  on it

The one adaptor/power board was one good bit of advice I got this week.  The other was around a crafty cash management scheme.  Credit card is the easiest and cheapest way of getting your cash ($7.50 a pop, get anything over $500 and it's cheaper than anything which charges a % exchange fee), but then you pay interest from the second you withdraw cash.  Which sucks balls.  And even worse, try to pay it off and you'll pay off the cash last so you have to pay for everything you've bought, to not pay interest. So:

Get a second credit card, the cheapest one around with no specal features.  This is your backup card, which is a good thing to have anyway.  Load it with your spending money.  When you withdraw cash, you won't pay interest.  You're then free to use your other card buying whatever (or whoever, in the case of Bev & Frankie Mac) you wish. I still prefer to use that westpac travel card, mainly because I don't really want to be carrying large amounts of cash around with me.

plus with no transaction fees by using one of the ABSA atm's  all it'll cost me is 2.5% total for each transaction, also able to be reloaded over the net at any time. Just a safer way for me personally, but each to their own I guess....
