I actually thought the first suburbs gial came against the run of play, TW having had a great first 30' or so. Joel was running like a man possessed and the team was playing well other than not scoring. Then came the goal which changed things quite a lot. Also Bevin was very quiet today although he scored a lovely goal. Very impressed by Moses Dyer...he dominated in midfield, a very talented player indeed.

I thought Joel had an uncharacteristic off day, he was far from his best and was continually giving the ball away. Lots of running but no reward

How did Team Wellington line up - Molloy/Stevens wide, Bevin in the hole, Kilkolly up top?

Is the game vs Weenix on Saturday or Sunday? I found two websites which give different dates for the game.

Also, I didn't realize Weenix played at DF as well. How come all national league games are now being played there? A few years ago, most games would be at Newtown Park...just curious.

Yeah I thought it was Sunday, saw nothing that it had changed to Saturday. I turned down Work in the afternoon to attend the game on Sunday, so a little annoyed if it’s been changed.

They started last season at Davey F as well then moved to Newtown.  Could be that Newtown is already in use so back-up is Davey F.

For whatever reason they swapped the ISPS Handy game and the NYL game

SO ISPS Handy game is on Saturday at Davey F KO 2pm, which is very annoying as the Capital Women's game against Central is on at Petone KO 1pm

The youth league game between TW & Weenix is now on Sunday 2pm at Petone

Newtown park is being relaid so is out of action for the summer

When/Where did they announce that?

As far as I’m aware, they didn’t. Very frustrating.

NZF did an announcement a few weeks after the draw. I think.

Ah. They blocked me on twitter for questioning them about misleading ticket prices. Something from the club would’ve been good.

So what's the verdict from Team Welly fans so far on Molloy? I loved watching him for Southern last season, he was on another planet with his work-rate and determination. Now he's surrounded by more illustrious teammates, how does he look?

Top of the table clash!

Well, depending on results from next weekend anyway (although Tasman should beat Southern at home and TW should beat Hawkes Bay)

Personally I think it's too soon to call it. I have to say he hasn't set the world on fire, but he does work very hard and is disciplined, makes the right decision most of the time etc. Plus the fact that a talented coach like Jose decided to play him must mean something. Be interesting to see how he goes over the next few weeks.

Best of an average bunch of Irishman, he's alright but would expect him on the fringes at TW, he's no Jacko

Good game although petered out a bit in the second half.

Team Wellington made all the running early and Hawkes Bay struggled a bit with their formation I thought and the goal was coming even after 10 minutes.  It could have been more during a fairly one sided first half.  HB sat deep and defended well in the middle of the park but were pretty ineffective going forward.  They got back in the game late on with a pretty soft penalty.  TW's habit of going one on one against the HB strikers was risky and that's what lead to the penalty when someone was bundled over.

Second half HB ripped into it from the start with most of the good play starting from good defensive pressure by the central midfield and defence and quick breaks.  However, the match was notable for the few shots on goal for both sides (I think only 4 a piece) and both teams were guilty of some pretty poor options in the front third.

After a strong 15 minutes from HB TW changed formation to a 3-5-2 and Daniel Halmeirian moved central.  I though he was TW's best and when he got on the ball he looked like the only player who could make things happen.  I thought it was the wrong decision to take him off as the game then lost shape for TW, HB at this point were playing entirely on the counter.  Kilkolly got very few touches, Fenton had a very anonymous second half when he moved to wing back in the 3-5-2.

Brett Angell is a massive arse to the players and officials but he knows how to set a team up.  HB need to score more goals if they're going to do something this year but they look like they'll be hard to beat.  I really liked Taye (?) in the middle of the park - where has he come from?  Bill Robertson was also very solid and looked the business.  TW controlled the game generally but didn't create enough for their possession.  I thought Andy Bevin had an off day but at least tried to play.

Good crowd and well refereed.  Enjoyed it.

Birhanu Taye (sp?) was in Portugal as a teenager then re-appeared in Wellington.  Plays winter for Olympic and has done some pre-season time around the Phoenix maybe last season?

Not A-League quality for me but I really enjoyed watching him play - great close control.

Only one game so earl to judge but I doubt we will see Louis back in the A-League.  Just has not progressed

Yes he played 90.  I did factor that in, I guess my judgement is based on the fact that over a full 90 minutes I just didn't see him do anything that clearly made him stand out as an A-League level player
