f**k I really can't stand Suarez though, moaning little diving f**king cheat.

Great comment about quite simply one of our only world class players (other than Lucas and a fully fit Agger), and our only player who looks like he is desperate to win. Gives absolutely eveerything for the cause. 'Moans' cos he wants to win. And he doesn't dive. Sky-washed.

What a massive bell end you are.

U mad bro? Didn't realise you guys were so tight sorry, or that you can't seem to get enough of the guy.

Next time you bump into him, tell him I said hi, and that despite your and other peoples willingness to gobble on his "massive bell end", that I still reckon he's a dick.

Oh, and let him know that if he wants to keep his world class status then he might want to lower his shots/dives ratio a bit.

Tell him Greg Louganis says hi, then go eat a sh*t.

I thought we play better than last time out.

Suarez took a dive there no question about that, just like Carroll against Newcastle.

Love to see what Rafa could do with this side?kickarse2012-04-09 18:48:42

I'm not 100% convinced it wasn't a pen. Hutton stepped on his foot I reckon. Plus those handballs should have been penalties. Still...How did Kuyt miss that chance? 20 shots on goal? Story of our season.

Going in to our semi against an Everton team who is charging. Uh-Oh. Hopefully we can get something from Blackburn

hopefully Agger and Johnson arent too far away from the starting 11. i dont think its a coincidence that our poor run of form as come at a time when both are injured

I think this weekend's game will define the manager's position for next year. Win a second trophy , Kenny wins a stay of execution.Lose and...

I've spent a while wondering what's gone wrong this season.A lot of angst around Kenny but the players seeme to have escaped a lot of vitriol.
So  , a quick pre-end-of-season review.

Reina , 6/10. Still a class keeper but has made more mistakes this year than I can remember. A developing poor attitude has me worried.  Not a great year.
Kelly 7/10. Like him every time I see him Shame he's injured, Future captain.
Agger 7/10. Simply because we look a lot more solid with him than without him.Brings the best out of Skirts.
Skirts 6/10. Still inconsistent but generally better than last year.PLays well with Agger
Carra 4/10. Legs gone , too many mistakes.Only in first team because of injuries.PLease slide out gracefully , you deserves that at least
Enrique 5/10 . Good start to career , lost form badly second half of season
Flanno 4/10- I was more impressed with him last year , not convince he's quality but he's young and may develop. Worth presevering with
Coates 4/10.Would keep though ,huge potential and needsd to start more often.Could be a long term CB.
Robbo- not seen enough to comment
Downing 3/10- a major disappointment. For a 20m man , England international , I'd expected a lot more.2 or 2 good games over a season is a very poor return from someone upon whom a lot of the season planning was placed
Adam-3/10- simply not good enough for us. ALthough maybe he's all we can get.A lazy defender , not enough quality.
Hendo 5/10- I'd persevere with him because I think he's been played out of position all year. Has shown glimpses of what he can do.Give him a run in the centre then we'll see.
Gerro 6/10- I'ver though for a long time he is not a CM.Doesn't read the game well enough and is positionally a bit suspect.Rafa had it right playing him in behing the front 1 or 2 , or on the right.Still  Red through and through but even he hasn't been enough this year.
Kuyt 5/10.Wonderful last year , average this. How the f..k he missed against Villa I'll never know. Has had a good "pool career , time to move on with thanks.
Lucas 10/10. Why? Beacuse he's shown just how critical he is to us by not being available. We have missed him more than we ever missed Gerroi
Carroll- 1/10. Absolute crap.Poor decision to buy ,panicked decision at best.Doesn't want to be there , unfit , a pisshead ( allegedly)- rubbish attitude. Sulky sh*t- piss off.
Suarez-7/10. Would get 8 if he wasn't so wasteful in front of goal.Brilliant player.Focus has been on him for other issues which have been well documented. My prediction - if Kenny goes , so will he.Rumour is that he's been very grateful for the backing KD gave him .
Bellers 8/10.Never gave anything less than 100% , love his attitude.Would have loved to have seen him play more.
KD 6/10 ( I can't give him less than that :-) ).Not a great year.Loyal to underperforming players , to a fault.Too forgiving of sh*t performances.Did stabilise the club though. Needs a result this weekend otherwise he's in trouble.Sometimes hard to see a discernable pattern of play.Tactically outthought by Pulis and Martinez but did AVB and Mancini like a dinner.
Comoli 2/10- hard to see what he's brought to the team

Comoli 2/10- hard to see what he's brought to the team
I was talking to a mate who was watching press pass. he said the inside gossip was Comoli didn't want all the british players (downing, hendo etc) and they were primarily King kennys picks. Interesting angle I thought Tyler2012-04-10 13:10:38

We are going to win the league! 4th place! 7th place!

Nice to get a win whilst being able to rest some players for the weekend. Jones starting in goal vs Everton though, who will be the reserve goalie I wonder?

Forgot a few from my ratings rant:

Shelvey 4/10 Still unclear about him.A bit underused for mine , does show some nice touches and may turn out to be a good player.Good enough?  STellar loan spell at Blackpool and can do a job for someone.
JOhnson 5/10. Never convinced about him although we did play well last year when he was LB and Kelly RB.May not stay anyway but form variable
Maxi 5/10 Another woefully underused player. Destined to remain a bit part player if he stays.Like his energy.

This morning hasn't changed my mind about anyone except I might knock Flanno back from whatever I gave him yesterday. Not ready for first team yet.

What a great game. The most exciting game I'v seen since we beat arsenal 4-3 in the champions league few years back.

Being down to 10 men for over an hour i thought the boys show some real heart to win the game

I just hope KK will start Maxi over Downing this weekend.

Recalled Gulacsi from Hull loan
Permalink Permalink
almost 14 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History

Liverpool Football Club confirmed that they have spoken to Hull City about the recall of goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi. The agreement is subject to approval from the Premier League, Football League and the FA.

Good move by the club as the next options are Academy Keepers. At least Gulacsi has had some Football League experience.

Can he be recalled and then sent away again? he isn't going to get any game time really.

Massive game this weekend for kenny I reckon. Do we go in as underdogs?

i dont think there are favourites for this game. Sure Everton have had the better league results lately, but in both fixtures this season we won 2-0 and 3-0. Should be evenly contested and we should have some confidence after winning yesterday with our 3rd keeper, and without Johnson at RB, and not starting Gerrard, Suarez, Enrique, Adam (although im not sure if i want him to play on saturday night) Agger etc

My prediction for the Starting XI and Subs for the Semi Final.

4-1-3-2
Jones
Johnson - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique
Henderson
Gerrard - Shelvey - Maxi
Suarez - Carroll

SUBS - Gulacsi, Carragher, Coates, Spearing, Kuyt, Bellamy, Downing.

There is no way he is going to start maxi. If maxi magically turned into messi and scored 10 agasinst blackburn he would still not start! He played maxi so he could rest his "main" man in the semi and maxi would be too tired to start. Makes me so uneasy when maxi is such a great player for us but kenny can't play him since he spent Liberia's deficit on downing.

Comolli states "family reasons" for him leaving by "mutual consent"... I think thats code for "sacked for buying Andy Carroll"

1. Maxi won't start. He's playing well, scoring goals and is  class . No way we'll play him.

2.Comolli gone. Meh. Can't sack Kenny yet , someone had to go.They must have read my ratings wher I gave him 2/1 0

3. Of more concern to me is the fact that Peter Bruckner has gone. Now that is a major blow. I know Bruckner , he's a very very good sports doc and completely revitalised the whole sports science /medicine set up . Prior to his arrival , a bit of a shambles apparently. Now world class due in large part to him.Bugger

Hmm , maybe they can sack Kenny, He's just had the "vote of confidence" from Werner.

Has Comolli  gone  in order to make room for King Kenny to be moved upstairs into a "Director of Football role".

Would then let the owners bring in a young and up and coming Manager like they originally planned. If that was the case who would people like to see brought into as Head Coach / Manager ?

For style of play that is close to the Liverpool ethos it to me would have to be Brendan Rogers from Swansea.

Keeper coach gone as well. Reports that the in-house lawyer becomes the 4th member of staff to be sacked in one day.

Can't see Rogers being given the job ( yet).

We were linked with AVB at the start of the year ; shame for him he took charge of a team more full of c**ts than Mermies. He's a good manager and currently unemployed    KD to DIrector of Football , providing a wise old head ?? Wouldn't mind that at all.

One wee rumour I've heard is Cruyff as "Director  of Football". Dunno how likely that is  though.

Permalink Permalink
almost 14 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
Both Cruyff and Van Gaal linked with the Director of Football role.
If the owners do keep the DOF role then I hope they get someone who understands the English game. Both Cruyff and Van Gaal have no or limited knowledge of the English game so for me they are not the ideal candidates.

I thought Cryuff's missus wouldn't let him take on any stressful jobs?

Anyway, either would be an attempt to gain connections to the Dutch player market.  Clearly a good idea - unless it lasts as long as their turn to British talent.

f**king STOKED!!!

Let's get 2 trophies in the bag this year, would be the first time in a while, and would make me feel a f**kload better about the dismal performance in the league this season.

brilliant stuff. tension of the game was crazy but great great result. Suarez and Carroll were superb for us and both were rewarded with goals.

Skrtel- TERMINATOR.

Carroll was sh*te and it was purely an accident he scored. Suarez on the other hand, when not diving, was very creative and scored and excellent and purposly hit goal. I thought Gerrard played a very defensive role which held them together for the most part.

That young keeper has potential if there was a decent defence in front of him.

PS: what was with that pitch, there were so many unintentional slips/dives in fairness to all the players.

Thought Carroll put himself around well. We all know by now he's not worth anywhere near the price we paid for him, but he was good today. Won a lot of flick-ons, worked hard for the team, and put in good clearances. Guilty of squandering chances, but we're in the final thanks to his goal.

Think Jones (the keeper) is 30 too? Very proud of him though. Emotional time for him, so made up it went well. He did his son Luca proud

Yeah, Spearing was playing really poorly tbh.

It's the dreaded Wembley pitch.was the same during the Carling Cup final.Despite numerous fixes doesn't look like they've sorted the drainage and sunlight issues.Where's TopLeft07, he's our resident expert..he might have some insights maybe?RedGed2012-04-15 20:10:16

Suarez got some serious attention from Distin and his old Ajax team mate Heitinga.Their game plan was to stop him, by the looks. Very effective first half from them. With foul problems in the second they had to tread a careful line and Suarez got more space and did the biz.
