Where are they all?!
Although we now have to meet financial fair play blah blah. We lost 50 million pounds last year so really do have to be careful or be penalised.
Are you Levy in disguise?
I said spent wisely...
Levy's approach is to let Liverpool do the scouting and then buy the players they are after whether they they fit the system or not.
I'm just not supremely confident in our ability to "spend wisely".
I certainly have a bit of faith in BR to make a few good buys, but our transfer record over the past few seasons has been pretty hit and miss. Granted there are some very solid hits there in the likes of Suarez and Sturridge, but more of our big name signings have failed than have succeeded. Aside from the aforementioned SAS the majority of our best players this year were either home grown talents or formerly average players who BR managed to get playing out of their skin.
Selling our best player puts a lot of pressure on us to be able to reinvest that on players who can perform to the expected standard and immediately, and I think our recent transfer records suggests that it's a rather bad idea to put too many eggs in that basket.

If suarez did leave, that fee might mean you guys can have a bit of a shop around?
We'll take suarez off your hands to help you out with that ;)
Although Henry might just say no again!
Would think (as Spurs found this year) it would be impossible to replace Suarez.
You guys can have Suarez....$80 mill and 1 pound
Interesting table but the logic doesn't really stack up.
Did any of the scorers scored against any entirely english defences?
How many of the 'english' liverpool goals were assisted by Suarez and Coutinho?
As a gooner I'd also be interested to see what difference Ramsey's goals would make if british players were to be included.

Get real. Stats compiled by John Zongmin Chow & Kevin Quealy - the modern face of UK.
"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...
I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."
No. But are John Zongmin Chow & Kevin Quealy true Brits? Or imports?

Allez le rosbifs! Et les autres - ghana, espana, cameroon, le belgique, finlandia, cameroon, greque, le russe..... etc. etc. etc................

But they're not english goals.
90% of them wouldn't have happened without their team mates from all countries.

lol Jazz that boy of yours sounds a real character
He is. I got home at about 4.30 Monday morning from watching the game. He was in tears. Little bugger had got up and found a link for the game ( on Soccernet I think) and had watched the commentary on line. This was despite being told he had to go to bed and couldn't watch because of school and training.Couldn't be too mad at him beacuse he was so upset ( and as he said , " well dad , would you have got up when you were my age?"). Little sod knows me too well. Also wants to go back to the Pub ( damn you , Kopgoff)- we had such a great time there over the last last month.
He's gone off Caulker a bit , found some CB's at Porto and Valencia that he fancies. I asked him on Suarez to Madrid and if he would want any/all of Contrao ( sp?), Isco and Benezma as has been mooted. Benexma go the big NO , the others he'd be OK with. RAther have Luke Shaw he says but looks like he's going/gone to Manure.
He's been hammered with homework last 2 nights but he's got an arvo of PE today so I'll get him to write up his wishlist tonight.

Because English football was really strong before the early 90s? LOL
I especially loved England's run in the 70s when they failed to qualify for four consecutive tournaments. Damn foreigners...

Oh ok so you were referring to english clubs in europe all along were you?
How has the influx of foreign players in the premiership been detrimental at all in that case?
English clubs have taken 8 of the 18 champions league finalists spots since 2005.
3 different english clubs have won it in that time.
In fact 2005 - 2009 would have to be the golden era for english football in the champions league - at least one english club in the final every year, and in 2007, 2008 and 2009 england provided three of the four semifinalists.

Smooth attempt to shift your argument Leggy and yet you've still failed badly.
It'a almost as if the amount of foreigners playing in England has no noticeable impact on the quality of "English football" whatsoever...

Though through the 60's and 80's (up to Italia '90) England arguably have performed better than they have since the start of the EPL.

Three for me, and two for them.
