I've been following the Sox all season and can't believe the month they've had. I kept thinking they'd come back but they didn't and what happend over the last few days is just nuts. Cynical stuff; but the Yankees blowing a 7 run lead in the 8th??

It's something like 7 months before they play again...

Nice to see Dirk back into the team, Gerrard on bench... he can lose his head in these matches, but still want a cameo from him.

Agree re dirk, so good to see him back starting! Link up play between him and suarez is going to be hard for everton to contain!

Definitely not a red, changed the game completely. Rodwell launched off the ground, then calmly poked at the ball, from ref's angle looked bad though.

Gutted Dirk didn't score, penalty was average but good save from Howard. Then hit post after cheeky corner from Suarez (pretty cheeky taking it in the first place). Nice dummy for first goal though and set up Suarez well in first half, Suarez probably should've scored there.

Good to see Suarez and Carroll score, but their link up was non-existent.

Wins are like women; good looking are better but  ugly gets the job done.

honestly couldn't care less about the red card. some of the 'tactics' they've employed in the past, Soto's red when Fellaini tried to snap his leg, Cahill's tackle just after the red and acting like a prick to Lucas just before it was shown, etc. Karma is a bitch.

Plus Atkinson went and saw the clubs during the week to say he wouldn't take any sh*t. So to dive in like that, right under his nose......

They do it every single game. It's always been this way. It always will. I know Atkinson isn't the best ref around, but in fairness to the fella, he did try to calm it down. I was shocked at the red, well, I couldn't stop laughing. Never a red in my book. A yellow should have been shown, but then Hibbert, Felani, Cahill, they could have all went for bad ones after that. They reduce the game to a battle every single time. Atkinson even visited both clubs in the week and warned them he wasn't going to wear it. So, to go clattering in, when there was no reason, right under the ref's nose, well, the daft bastard was asking for it.
Cahill belts Lucas round the head in the melee after the tackle. Another ref might have well sent him for that. Then he flies in, studs up, and takes Adam out, seconds later.
They've got f**k all to moan about, but have a guess what.... yeah. They won't stop until the next thing they get to moan about. Maybe they should make a video compilation of all the tackles where they've twatted our players over the years and got away with it. But then nothing seem to cheer them c*nts up.

It was a good tackle in the sense that he got the ball no one is arguing about that the problem is those type of tackles where you launch yourself at speed and with a straight leg have been outlawed. The reason is that once you have launched into the tackle there is absolutely no way of pulling out.

The difference between a perfectly timed tackle that takes the ball and one that gets their late and ends a player's career is milliseconds. The reason it was a red was because of the speed, the ferocity and the lack of control in the tackle.

It was a clean tackle because Suarez was off balance because of the attentions of Fellaini, then saw the way Rodwell had launched himself at the ball and pulled out and got his feet off the ground and still got caught.

One simple question what would of happened if Suarez had reacted a little quicker to the loose ball and got their first ?

I'm not saying what they did was right in fact i was disgusted by the sh*t they were throwing just pointing out your supporters are no better

Think it's all been said. Couldn't give a bitter about the red card, we've been on the rough end of a few decisions so far this season and the blues deserved a good sending off anyways

Early days in his recovery but did anyone think Gerrard played a little deeper? Maybe King Kenny told him to sit in as Suarez can create? Maybe not just a thought.

As most people have said, we will take the red card. Maybe Kenny's whining over the last month had an impact!

Yeah I think he did get him to sit a bit, 1 goal up away from hme against 10 just knock it about. Dirk went and played up top with carroll and suarez in behind was what I saw. Could be wrong not claiming to know what I'm talking about thou!

Thought kelly had a good game too, he's been a bit overlooked. Really like the way he plays always wanting to go forward and push back the defender.

And how freaking quick is bellamy! Man he has wheels!

Yeah. Just get an extra man in the midfield, keep the ball rolling. I love Gerrard when he plays like that. Was the same against United at Anfield last season. I'm not a big fan of Gerrard sitting deep, but if he keeps playing like that... It's so nice to see him not trying to do everything himself, playing the hollywood passes etc.

Playing Rangers in a friendly on the 18th?? Makes no sense to me, anyone heard the reasoning behind it?

It's because you're not in Europe and i don't think Rangers are either so both teams using it as a mid week hit out much the same as a European game midweek i guess for match fitness etc etc
