It certainly will be interesting to see how we cope without Carra. He does bring a lot of organisation and leadership back there. However his constant refusal to pass to Lucas (and his sickening passing to Poulsen every time against West Ham) and his hoofing is embarassing, so hopefully we can start to build from the back. Without his lack of pace, hopefully we can play higher up the pitch too.
Lol, no thanks, lets get somebody good in for that price
Agreed, hope Fabio can keep fit. Would like to see Poulsen and Konch gone, but thats pretty unlikely. Bring back Insua and Aquilani plz? Babel, can we just get rid of this guy?! Bringing in will be more difficult, not many good players available...
Will we ever see the end of these guys???
They'll get run out of town again. Gillette's just been chucked out of his Nascar interests too. Been a bad year for the muppets.

well done roy (truthfully) a good young team, hope dani does well, eccleston on the bench
just saw Sammy Lee on the line doesnt he look like Micky Rooney?
Just tuning in 1-0
Missed anything? Lots of pressing forward I imagine, Poulsen taking the game by his balls?

Ah well, it's called doing just enough. Through to the next round.
How did Pacheco do? Never really got to see much...

Good review of the game on NESN. Straight to the point, pulling punches.
Liverpool Reserves Prove How Little Depth Squad Has in Mediocre Draw in Bucharest
Hopefully NESV will start to rectify our "lack of depth" and "mediocrity".

I watched about 60 mins. Pacheco was little quiet. Poulsen was non-existant, Babel and Cole showed some good touches but don't have the combination. It's not a bad result is it? An away point to secure qualification with a second string team.
Well done Roy on picking some young fellows though

Well, tbf, it could be argued that the 'tactics' which set the team up were the resut of such an appalling game...
Oh well, qualified on top, job done.
And some straight shooting from Agger. Hopefully these youngsters have realised they'll out last Uncle Roy and will have a part to play from next season.
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has rejected talk that he could leave the club in January.
Reports have suggested Agger could be on his way out of Anfield in the next transfer window with German side Wolfsburg credited with an interest in the centre-half.
However, Agger, who is recovering from a calf injury, insists he has no plans to leave Liverpool and that he will not be forced out of the club.
"Liverpool can't force me out of the club even if they want to as I have got four years left on my contract," Agger told Jyllands-Posten.
"I find it strange that people who don't know anything shout everything possible.
"I expect Roy Hodgson to have the guts to tell me face to face if he doesn't want me and he hasn't said that."

great start to the weekend....well done nesv!! Maybe roy?
It's going to be a big game tomorrow. Looking at the table now only confirms it's a must win.

Yeah, really enjoyed that. Everything I'd say except written much better. All the stuff about his credentials are so so so so right.
"It is a version of the truth. Signing Djimi Traore was Houllier's achievement. Winning the European Cup with Djimi Traore was Rafael Benitez's."
If you had Roy Hodgson's away record, you too would have many friends in football. Since August 2009, Hodgson has won two league matches away from home, so it is no surprise he is greeted warmly wherever he goes.
Love it!!
Some interesting comments by Comolli:
Damien Comolli, Liverpools director of football strategy, believes he has identified potential bargains in the January sales, with Europes financially stricken clubs desperate to sell their best players.

My feeling about it is that in this economic recession there are so many clubs that are in trouble abroad, more than England. These clubs are under enormous pressure to sell. So this January window could be a very different window from what we have seen previously.
Players that we would never have thought would be available could be. So thats why we are working away, thinking that if there is the right opportunity we should do it. Strange things could happen, he said.
The January window has proved a poor time to invest in the past and NESV, Liverpools new owners, are cautious about making promises.
Comolli is keen to stress that the club will not buy a player just to make a statement of intent: I think the owners are clear minded enough to step back from that pressure. We are going to do what is right, not just for now, but what is right for the club in the next three or four years.
Roy [Hodgson] is totally onside with that. Why do it if its not right? If its right in the summer well do it then.

v Villa:
Reina
Johnson Soto Skrtl Aurelio
Lucas Meireles
Kuyt Cole Maxi
Torres
Ngog
Jova
Poulson
Konch
Pacheco
If we play positively like we have recently at home I think we can put 3 past them. (without them getting 3 or more in return that is ;)

No room for Babel after a fairly good display in Europe?I like the team though. I wouldn't be surprised not to see Pacheco
See the story about Jova looking for other options as he is not being used? I wouldn't be too bothered if he left to be honest as long as we get some good $$ for him.
^ :D picked with heart not my head, I can't be fired for poor decision making when picking a team on the interweb
In other news... Just read that NESV have signed Adrian Gonzalez for the BoSox - $167m over 8yrs!
Time to start writing that wishlist for Christmas, lads.
Tyler, you can Honda. Nino can have Aguero, Jaz can have... Dzeko. I'll take Hazard and Roy can have Mata as a parting gesture of good will.

On a very different note......Saw a pic in the paper today of nonu playing for the barbarians against sa on the weekend and I'm 99% sure he's playing in a pair of the black liverpool away socks! Wierd!
My pick for jan would be lorente!

I hope that Babel takes this opportunity......score a good goal today Ryan and you might win yourself a stay at Liverpool. Come on you reds
Yeah, this is a great opportunity he has been given. Really gotta take it, son! Come onnnnnnn!
1-0! Ngog... Good lad. I love Lucas and Meireles in the middle. Now babel!!! 2-0!!
I'm reading it on BBC....but I think it comes faster from El Nino!!
2-0 with Babel slotting in. He's starting to make a late run to lift his sale price come Jan! (thanks for the goal anyway)

Bigger than the beeb!Playing pretty well. Maxi, Ngog, Lucas, Raul all have some nice touches. Babel looking lively and trying really hard. GJ starting to get more involved. Kuyt playing... like Kuyt! Pretty happy so far. Villa are sh*te though. I love Pepe as captain.
A couple more goals hopefully? BBC are raving about Babel.......any chance he could stay??
It's taken 16 games, but our goal difference is finally back to 0. Get in!!
Thanks to our superior goal difference we'll jump West Brom! How sad is that... <-- Don't answer, it's rhetorical.

It'll probably all depend on bringing someone else in. If we find someone, let him go, otherwise hold on.
3-0, maxi. Great goal. Fking great goal. Run down the wing for me!!
