Shame about the Red Sox though, they're getting torn apart at the moment 1-7. Same start LFC had to the season...

Last post on the Sox. Found a great little doco that takes you through the 2004 season that they won the world series. Interesting to see the methods Epstein, Henry and Warner used to create a unified and balanced team. The similarities between the Sox and LFC are pretty uncanny. The history, fans and emotion that we can all relate too.

But what a game!! Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt, Speo, Flanno... Fking all of the players played like champs! Really wanted it and was so good to see. Didn't want the first half to end... Brilliant, still buzzing.

Just came to say Dirk Kuyt

Liverpool are set to reward striker Dirk Kuyt for his consistently excellent performances with a new contract until 2014.


The Dutch international was on target in Monday's win over Manchester City but it is for his excellent all round displays of tireless energy and enthusiasm that he has been handed a new deal at the club.

The striker, who now plays as more of a wide man than an out and out striker, is to sign his new contract this week which will keep him at Anfield until 2014.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish said: "You know what you are going to get from Dirk Kuyt - you are going to get honesty and goals and we are delighted with what he has done. "
