Looks like Sir Alex is chasing Xavi from Barcelona as he is stalling over a new contract with Catalan club as a replacement for Hargreaves.

Stokes supportors were into Ronaldo all night, he kinda buried them really.

I've always said Carrick should be a regular. :) At one ponit the fans were chanting, "Stand up if you beat Arsenal" Now I can chant back, "Stand up if you best Stoke" :P

Good to see such promising youth as Fraizer Campbell who seems to have hit some form for Spurs and Wellbeck coming through. Darron Gibson was talked up alot a couple of seasons ago had a quiet loan spell at Wolves but maybe going to make an effect this season with Scholes presumably going to be rested a little more as he's turning 34 today or tomorrow.

Just like Michael, ive always thought carrick should be a regular starter. Hes one of those players that brings certain things to a game that only real quality players have, consistently awesome passing, composure on the ball, and he can score some great goals too (anyone remember United's 6th goal in the 7-1 win over Roma a couple of seasons ago?).

It looks like the long term future is bright for United as well, Johnny Evans, Danny Simpson and Rafael at the back.
Possebon, Gibson, Nani and Anderson
Fraizer Campbell and Wellbeck
All under 21
All quality

We haven't got a moat surrounding our pitch so Rory will have enough room for his usual run up, plus he'll have 2 metres less to throw it.  He played pretty awful this morning though.

Wellbeck almost made Wallcott look old and slow

I don't think Carrick was dropped he has been injured and with the range of passing he has he was always going to thrust back into the starting lineup as that has seemed to be the missing piece for united this season. While Fletcher can run all day he has a limited passing range as does Anderson and with Scholes struggling he was always going to get his spot back.

Wellbeck is a Manchester lad, born and bred. Stunning goal. Went to the Waitakere game yesterday, so to watch the Nix whack in 7 then get up in the wee small hours and watch United put away 5 was a pretty good 12 hours.

Carrick's never not been first choice, he cost too much money not too be. But this past year he has turned into a world class performer, and I love having him in my team. Then we have a guy like Gibson, who looks identical to Carrick on the pitch, just a whole lot younger! What a talent.

Congrats on Ronnie for goals number 100 and 101 for the club too. Can't wait for number 200!

Rooney, just turned 23, Ronaldo 23, Tevez 24. Foster ridiculously young for a top goalie (maybe 23ish). As always with United, there are top players coming through the ranks. And Rafael's twin brother, Fabio Da Silva, is rated higher than Rafael, but he's injured for quite some time.

It almost gets to the stage where he's on the park for his throw ins. Strangest thing since Jonty Rhodes was selected in the South African cricket team as a speciality fielder.

By the same token are the rest of the Stoke side picked solely on their ability to kick the sh*t out the opposition?

Three for me, and two for them.

lol...

Anyway yeh Carrick does alot of off the ball running to, which cracks the defence, and opens other players up. Just you don't often see it on TV.

Wow! Quite the goal for Wellbeck to stroll on and score innit?

Ronaldos free kicks always buzz me out. Like the first one, straight at the keeper but swerving like a drunk on his way home and with some mean power. He basically almost toe pokes them!

Football is a wondrous thing. We lose to stoke, beat the mancs and then lose to aston villa while manchester lost to arsenal and then go thrash stoke

Alex has been banned for two matches :o

I think it retarded Managers can't speak out against refs. Refs can screw managers job on the pitch, why can't manages put in a small word. The system they expect them to use of reporting to the FA doesn't work for sh*t.

So when Wenger does it he's a whinging french bastard but when it's Sir Alex of Ferguson the Mancunian Messiah it's only speaking out against poor refereeing decisions?

or maybe it just shows that through both scenarios the system is flawed? I like the idea of being able to have one or two reviewable desicions like tennis. as long as it does not slow the game dramatically. Otherwise, it will always be the same! I don't mind seeing gaffers go mad every once in a while though. They certainly should be able to express their dissapointment though. And also, ask for the refs game to be scrutinized if they believe there were any serious blunders in the match.

Serves Alex right in my opinion. He should be considered lucky he has got away so many times

Well I feel Wenger is a whinging Frenchman. But I also think Sir Alex is a whinging Scotsman. If our results don't stand up then he loves blaming it on the ref. Often he's not right to do so.

Often he has quite a case. We would've done the treble last year except for the ref.

Also why bother giving a 10K fined? The club will just re-endorse him for that surely.Michael2008-11-20 08:20:25

They're complaining because MU has increased ticket prices, if they didn't increase ticket pricesd they need funding from other places, oh bye Ronaldo... thanks for the $100mil RM... etc etc.

Just more people who are angry with ol Malcom.

Did you actually read the article?

They are NOT complaining about an increase in the price at all. They are complaining that when they buy a season pass for the EPL they have to commit to buying tickets to cup games whether thay want those tickets or not.

And that's not how you spell Malcolm!

"Over recent years we have seen unfair terms and huge ticket price rises imposed on supporters by club owners taking advantage of their loyalty," said MUST chief executive Duncan Drasdo.

Glad you popped into our thread, but did you actually read the article??? While there is no doubt people are complaining about the Cup ticket scheme, the above quote kind of points out Michael's claim.

Not sure who the real dickhead is here...

I think Malky is right on this one.

MUST's argument centres on the hotly disputed compulsory cup scheme, which forces season ticket holders to agree in advance to buy tickets for cup games even though they do not know how many they will have to pay for and who the opposition will be.

No dout the basis of that part he is saying is correct, but when he says "they are NOT complaining about ticket prices at all", he's incorrect. That's all I have to say on the matter.

poor Tevez, what does he have to do to get a game? Rooney looked lonely up front against Villareal. Santi Cazorla is bloody good...

@Malky, what a nob. They're complaining about both. Calm down... And I also didn't really care how I spelt Malcolm cause it wasn't really the important part of the post. Was it?

And they probably are Malcolm rebels.

Oh, and I'm glad a Liverpool fan is standing up for Malcolm. Cheers mate! Michael2008-11-26 10:53:35
