They'll appear here soon, there's normally at least 10 different ones.

Well it doesn't matter, you will be wanting to watch the Liverpool game anyway

Just watched the highlights of the derby game. Nani's was a good un, and man Rafael is a good player for so young. Looking forward to seeing Fabio make senior debut.

Yesterday was OK, I was out somewhere with slow mobile internet so could only follow updates, but I have since seen the goals. I didn't need the stress when they got that first one, then the second one meant the prior Ronaldo goal was suddenly the game winner! Never mind, we're on our way to Wembley! March 1st, or 2nd NZ time I tink. Tottenham were up 4--1, on agg after the first leg in the other semi, but Robbie Blake has just scored for Burnley. Two more and Spurs are goneskys! A little optimistic I know.

Yeah the iinjuries are mounting up, especially at the back. Fortunately we probably have the best squad around so plenty of depth. Fabio may well get his chance based on the performances of his brother, provided he's fully fit. Ferdinand must be close to being fit, then we still got Vidic and O'Shea of course, then theres the very young chap Chester. Tevez might be injured as well so a Berbatov-Welbeck, or Berbatov- Ronaldo partnership might happen against Spurs. Could give Tosic a chance of at least making the bench.

It is now Burnley 3 Tottenham 0!! Sh*t I don't know if the Carling Cup has the away goals rule, but if it does, United vs Burnley final!
Permalink Permalink
about 17 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
OK apparently they have to play extra time, but if the score is the same after that, then the away goal rule kicks in. According to a quick Google search. Just finished full time now.

Damn Tottenham. I wanted to play Burnley...

Yeah Burnley were so unlucky. Never mind, I'm sure the Tottenham final will be a goody. Looking foward to it.

Hopefully we won't "Do an Arsenal", not that finals can be drawn.

I noticed Man U got their customary 90th minute penalty at Old T. I love to see consistency.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

After defending for 90 minutes the defence gets frustrated and hand us penalties. Not our fault Ronaldo to good for them. :)

Good result boys. Was a bit p***ed off that the game was delayed for a replay of the Rugby league world cup(who actually cares?!?!?!) MoM for me had to be Ronaldo or Park.

Who was your MoM?

sky can only show what games setanta give them (i think), so it's not sky's fault it was delayed.

To be honest, a chance to see that rugby league again was one I took with glee. I reckon they should replay that every week till the next World Cup in 2013!

As for the game, it was nice to see the goals piling in, had a few too many 1-0 wins and winners coming late on etc. My man of the match was maybe Michael Carrick, whose passing capabilities are unmatched in my opinion. Not since Becks was at his peak could a man put the ball wherever he wants it on the field (though Scholesy's not bad) but Carrick has been great this year. Sentimentaly though, could be tempted to give my vote to Edwin van der Sar, who collected his 11th straight clean sheet and a new Premiership record! Havn't conceded since Nasri at the Emirates.

Yea good old Edwin, him and the back 4 are really the core of the side. Fantastic work to get that record. Great to see the side doing well despite the number of injuries.

CARRICK

I missed the game due to being away from home. Glad to see Carrick doing what he does best. :) Also glad to see a nice record for us.

Question, would you give the defense most of the credit or Edwin?

I think you should have a look at the last few games, as Carrick gives the ball away more than anyone.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Your kidding me!?!? Carrick looses the ball about once a season.
