Well they are a bit sneaky, they are supposed to be every two years but of twice the last four years we've had a commemorative strip, which of course is only used for one season. We had the one with the racing stripe the last two years, but before that we had one with gold trim for just the one.

These strips look like they should be around for two seasons, though of course they'll change the away strip after next season.

I'll be getting one anyways.

So.  Which one or two will you be getting from us for next season?  Bale, Modric, Dawson, Palacios, Gomes?

Bale and Modric please.

I can definitely see Bale and Modric heading up to bigger clubs. Though I reckon Bale'd go to Perennial strugglers Liverpool. Just a guess though. Purely uneducated.

Yeah, I would assume Bale would want to play CL football.

Warriors are the worst for ripping off their fans. They have fifty different versions of the same shirt all at $150 each and bill them all as collectors items.

Yep.  your Sugar daddy pimps are already sniffing around Luka and eyeing up Gareth.

Why don't you learn - we gave you Berba.

And Carrick.

You guys did sneek ahead of us to get Bale, as did the Arse when signing Ramsey.

No.  You stole Carrick from us (SAF fluttering his long eyelashes and waving his pounds sterling in one hand and his boots in the other).

We gave you Berba becasue he got all sulky and wanted to wear red.

Well, if you are still bitter about Carrick you can have him back.

Bull! Oh teddy teddy still had plenty to give when he went back down there! Carricks usually needs a run of a few games to find his feet always has done since he joined. And when hes in form hes a great asset.

On the subject of this season's shirt.....it was always going to be just for the one season - its a centenary edition. Its taken me all season to come around to actually liking this one, and with them now being sold for 19 quid i might have to order myself one (the sh*te pound at the mo makes it around only $45!) coz next season's one looks very plain IMHO.

I reckon the talk about Modric is just that - talk, and it stemmed from fergie talking him up in the programme last weekend then he never showed up on the pitch!

CMON Perennial strugglers Liverpool! lol cant beleive im finding myself saying that!

Well as I sit here at work, not really being able to concentrate due to a lack of sleep last night, I think back to the highs and lows of the season.

Highs:

1. League double over City
2. Dismantling Milan at the San Siro
3. League Cup run where we beat City over two legs in the semis
4. Wayne Rooney
5. A near perfect performance at the Emirates for the second year running.

Lows:

That week:
1. Losing to Chelsea at home (didn't deserve to win but an offside goal is always a kick in the teeth)
2. Knocked out by Munich in the ECL
3. The away 0-0 with Blackburn, which was totally inept after the week's earlier results
Also:
4. Losing at Stamford Bridge (not that we tend to win there, but we played really well and I felt that was one we we wasted a great chance.)
5. Knocked out by Leeds in the FA Cup 3rd Round

I would say the loss at Anfield but that came just hours afer we hit the Gold Coast for 6, and nothing was going to bring be down from that.

I think over the summer a couple of Foster, Carrick, Park and Berbatov may be sold, while guys like Welbeck and Fabio are loaned out. David Silva does seem keen to sign but SAF may go after one top English player, like he seems to do after each major tournament England make (Rio in 02, Rooney in 04 and Hargreaves in 06 though Bayern didn't sell till 07). It might be Milner, if we can convince Villa to sell. Rodwell is another potential target.

We also need a forward. I expect if Berba leaves then someone like Benzema or Dzeko will come in, so Rooney and this player will have Hernandez, Owen and Macheda as back up.

Goalkeeper will come in - maybe Neuer, Akinfeev, Lloris, Buffon. I don't know what SAF is thinking there, he tried the young up and comer with Foster and it didn't work, he may just open the wallet a little more and get an experienced guy.

All in all, not a bad season, no teams won 4 titles in a row so we were always up against it, and we will bounce back next season

From day one I said Chelsea would win rhe league and we would be in the top three. The Fact that we got to one point was great. When you lose two of the best strikers in the league and still come second, tells me that this United side is good.
Never mind what the plonkers from the other threads think, this has been as good seaason for Utd.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

This new Mexican guy, Hernandez, is showing some quality in last friendlies, 3 goals in 2 games. Wonder how he will do in his 1st season in EPL.

First it was AIG and now it's AON -

Its a nice sentiment but one that does not always tally closely with Aons recent history, littered as it is with significant controversy, including charges of corruption, financial rule-breaking and most seriously supporting human rights violations in Burma.

Indeed, in early 2009 the company paid a 5.25 million fine to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) the UKs financial regulator for anti-corruption failings, with the groups UK subsidiary found guilty of failing to crack down on possible bribery. The FSA found the company had made payments of 1.4 million (1.26 million) and $3.25 million (2.13 million) to unnamed third parties as part of Aons overseas new business development process.

The payments, made to intermediaries at a Bulgarian insurance company and one owned by the Burmese Government, were among 66 suspicious arrangements with firms in Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Burma, Indonesia and Vietnam, claimed the Times newspaper. Each was reported to the Serious Organised Crime Agency before the FSAs crackdown.

Perhaps more damaging still was the $190 million settlement that Aon paid to end New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzers 2005 investigation into conflicts of interest and alleged fraud at the company. Including settling probes in Connecticut and Illinois Aon paid, without admission of liability, the $190 million over 30 months to policyholders damaged by the companys actions.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I'm liking the look of Javier Hernandez, I think he'll be a real handful although I cant see him starting, might be a bit too similar to Rooney? or we may even play one up front? Diouf has to go in my opinion. he's right up there with Manucho as a contender for the "Worst Transfer Ever" Award. I expect Fergie to make a decent go for Silva or Milner and I think Joe Cole would be an excellent free transfer. I would like to see Carrick go depending on how good his World Cup is, he had a poor season really. Hope they give Anderson a decent chance next season.

Eric Djemba-Djemba

Worst transfer ever.

At least Diouf is young and might develop. Manucho was Quieroz's signing.

Dong Fangzhou - guy from China. Gone now, last seen playing (?) in Poland.

Debt is getting a bit out of control if you ask me. Shame they turned down last year's offer worth 1.5 bil.

I do remember one wondergoal Djemba-Djemba scored, against Leeds in the Carling Cup I think. Deadset chipped the goalkeeper, while the keeper was basically on his line.

But generally really quite rubbish.

Yeah Dong wasn't up to much, though I think we signed him just to sell a few shirts in China if I'm honest, I remember SAF saying Djemba-Djemba was the 'new Makelele' because he went through the same system at Nantes.

Kleberson is back in the Brazil squad for the WC. He could win another one with Brazil. Taibi, what a disaster. Bellion was another poor signing

Kleberson, Bellion and Djemba-Djemba all arrived the same window, along with Tim Howard. Not four of SAF's greatest ever signings.

On the other hand, the other signing that year was a certain C.Ronaldo, and he turned out OK.

Zoran Tosic off to CSKA Moscow. Don't like the headline from Soccernet: "Manchester United Flop" He didn't even get a chance to be a flop, plus he was actually pretty decent. Played very well for Cologne on loan in the Bundesliga this season.

Joe Cole could be on the way according to latest rumours in the press, wouldn't mind seeing him in a united shirt. Definitely has a good creative spark.

And has the ability to switch wings, which Valencia doesn't and something SAF does like.

Would love to see J.Cole in Man Utd, he would add a lot to this team in my opinion, but like Downey26 wrote, he is keen to stay in London.

Anyway, until the end of WC (at least end for England, which probably won't mean end of WC as such ;)) it's all speculations. Wait and see.
