Good to see the United management not running down the tunnel Wenger style & shake his hand...Yep, thats the way we do it Mr Wenger - even when defeated.

Well, that Monaco result aside, I'm pretty stoked with that. Next up:

Knew this was coming - let's not get started on past strikers scoring against ex clubs.

Welbeck did what any striker should be able to do from one of our mistakes. It s not some massive retribution story that it's going to be made out to be.

P.S. Goofy quoted me, I didn't come here to troll :)

Also, stoked with the draw for the next round! And agree Paul (I think), good to see blatant dives be punished. Januzaj especially.

I think its great the plaudits Oliver is getting for having the balls to do something about the rampant diving on display

What a result this morning, still on cloud 9 over it. I wasn't feeling confident at all before the game but more than deserved the win in the end. Coquelin again stood up in this game, wouldn't mind seeing Walcott come in for Sanchez this weekend just so Alexis gets a breather.

Completely agree Uber with the comments about the ref, cheating Mancs finally got a ref at home with a set on him.

Haven't won there since 2006. United always seem to spoil our party. I'm just not confident unfortunately.

Don't worry lads. It was just an anti-jinx. This has made my day. Loads of fist punching in the staff tea room. I'm actually still shaking. COYG

This was me. Fist pumping and cheering whilst no one around me gave a shark. Not bothered though, we're off to Wemberleeeee....

Easy

Didn't even play that well.

Hope Ox complaint isn't serious.

Credit to  DeGea, really good player. Top drawer saves. Rooney looked like he was trying hard but that is not the impression I got from many other players.

Righto need to Hammer the Hammers, momentum, mental strength etc....

I still can't work out Shrek's pate: it's clearly balding on top again. The folk that keep sticking other people's hair on his head are fricking printing money!!

The game itself - De Gea: is there a better 'keeper in Europe at the moment? His shoulders are massive from carrying that team.

And we didn't really put in a stellar performance but 'Stoke/Bolton/Alladyce team v 2.0' were underwhelming. If Shrek had an 8+/10 game it could've been a differen result.

The diving and Foullani's performance? Anti-football that maybe even Moron-io might scoff at.

Haven't been able to get on since the game. Incredible result, great to finally beat those Newton lot up there after all these years. Was a great game, end to end and spent the last 10 minutes plus injury time with my head in my hands. Didn't think there was any possibility they wouldn't equalise. Great play from Ox for the first goal and super cool finish from one of the least likely scorers. Typically woeful defending to gift their equaliser. How do you leave Rooney in the middle of the penalty area on his own FFS?

Love that Welbeck scored the winner. I don't rate him at all, didn't want to sign him and think he's been pretty poor overall for us but he's scored the winner against them so that's instant legend status. Nice to see the referee punish diving too. That Januzaj one was ridiculous, he was past the defender and was into score. Idiotic from Di Maria to put his hands on the ref.

Looking forward to the semi final.

2 things i forgot to mention.....the build up to 1st goal was pretty awesome and Nacho's finish is VERY tidy and composed.

De gea is world class as someone on here mention, i can't see him staying in manchester for too long

Yeah incredible save from Cazorla's volley. I was celebrating. Not much more Santi could have done with it. Kept it down and went for the corner. Such a relief to have beaten them and City away this season to finally get those monkeys off our back.

With Chelsea getting knocked out tonight, and city likely to get knocked out to Barca next week, it would be one hell of a story for us to come back with a 3-0 win next week.

When you need to hold onto a lead, Walcott is the last player I would bring on. I'm guessing Wenger has told him we have enough right sided players who know how to track back as well as go forward, and he needs to learn that too or he wont be getting a contract extension. Take a look at how Cazorla has changed his play style by playing deeper, he is turning into a Mini Arteta. If Walcott cant become the player we need, I'm guessing we would sell him at the end of the season and use his extorted (meaning he had us over a barrel last time we had to negotiate) wages on a better player.

Ox out a month? If so, highly frustrating

3-0 over Monaco equals big TV payday, assuming Barca eliminate City

I read this one this morning:

http://arseblog.com/2015/03/can-theo-walcott-dance...

I agree Theo needs to work on the defensive side of his game. However I think we forget just how dangerous he is to teams playing a high line. Yes, Sanchez can get in behind, but Walcott's natural game is those darting runs in behind & it does offer more than the intricate passing & layoffs we get from Giroud & Sanchez.

Personally, I think we're nuts to let the guy go, and would like to see him getting more time back in the squad, this weekend would be a great opportunity for that.

In other news we're being linked with goal keepers. I know Szy seems to have lost his #1 spot, but I can only really think of De Gea, Lloris, and maybe Neur as the kind of keepers who could come in and really improve our stock.

Cech who must surely want to be playing, but Mourinho would never sell to us.

If anyone is interested, the LFC charity game on Sat 28th is available from LFC Go for 1 pound and Stevie G's team will have the front three of Suarez, Torres and your own Thierry Henry.

I am sure that i have seen a couple of things about his daughter recently having had an operation, that Walcott was saying was very stressful.  There was also a couple of comments from Wenger when he first came back about being over the physical part of the injury, but still coming to terms with the mental side of things. I went to one game he played in around Christmas time (I think) and he was very scared of going into tackles. He was never brilliant at them in the first place, but he seemed to be going a long way out of his way to avoid them.

edit - just checked and it seems that the operation on the baby happened around the time it was born about a year ago.
