Its great to see the screen cleaned up.  Its been giving me alot of grief on my computer though when I go to a match:  The game starts playing but the screen says still loading, not sure if this is a software or hardware glitch but am looking forward to taking Waikato to the CWC in the full version.

You could have done this in FM09.You just needed to edit a league eg the A-League and turn it into the NZFC.

Your right but that is messy and when I start playing I dont like to stop and start new comps.  Am still playing the same 08 & 09 comps that I set up on the days that I brought those games.

Wicked, I'm loving it.  I'm still the same hapless manager who couldn't beat time with a stick so things are quite realistic in that sense ;-)

Not happy with the delay. I have a friend who's one of the German researchers, and reckons he'll received his copy on time because its not going through a supplier, but is direct from SI. Is that true HN?

bought a PSP yesterday in readyness for this game and some long flights when I come down to NZ for a couple of weeks over Christmas time.  Played a bit of 09 on the laptop, but the wife gets upset when I call computerised players "FCUKING CNUTS" and start sulking when we conceed goals - should make this interesting on an airplane.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

i've just ordered my copy through zavvi, after mightyape stated supply of FM10 in NZ has been delayed by a week.

still might take longer through zavvi, but i've managed to get FM10 & PES10 delivered for the same price as FM10 would have cost me locally.

news: you must finally be able to give us some gossip on how the a-league is looking in FM10? ;)

Yep, I got it off there.

So far I've had 3 games in the A-League, beat Newcastle 1-0 then beat Perth 4-3 then drew with Brisbane 1-1 after a 90th minute goal from them.

Liking the game better than last years at the moment.

transfers in A-league - is it still impossible to sign players contracted to other a-league clubs? does this rule stay enforced every season?

In 09 they change the rule in about 2012. Not sure if it happens in this game too.

Actually I spent two days putting together the Northern League, Central League and Southern league.  I have the NZFC and A-League going too.

I added in Ngaruawahia to the northern league, have signed Vicelich and Soroman and am kicking ass.

Only problem is, FM10 doesn't really recognise that the three leagues are of the same level and have ranked them as 1)Northern 2)Central 3)Southern.  Of course you could argue that this is a pretty decent ranking anyway based on the respective playing depths.

Sure is my friend!!!

Still, its great to finally play with NZ teams.  Would be great News if you could somehow increase the depth of NZ winter football.  Obviously a huge task but well worth it!!!

Oh wow is it actually a full on playable league? Along with the NZFC? Awesome, makes me consider buying it,however is there really much point spending the $100 if you already have 09? (no thats not a rhetoric question,i actually want to know if its worth it. HN - you arent allowed to answer )

Allegedly

Yes I am now.

There is an editor whereby you can make any league playable with any teams in the world.  I have not actually played with it myself.  NZFC will be better in the first data patch as we will update for this seasons squads.  Deadlines don't align so first release has to be at the end of last season.

championship manager is still a bit of a joke of a game.

well, i got a very pleasant surprise when i found my copy of FM10 (along with PES10, which is brilliant btw!) sitting in the letterbox today (ordered from zavvi, based in jersey - i got FM10 & PES10 delivered for NZ$100, and I got FM10 before a lot of brits, haha!).

Finally got a chance to give it a go this evening - and very impressed so far.

Started a season as the nix - have plenty of other leagues running, and used the new DDT options in-game to include loads of other decent players (around 120,000 altogether apparently). I probably went a bit overboard - game is running a tad slowly.

Sold Lia, Ferrante, & Brown (because of their dual nationalities - Italian, Italian & English respectively - they are in high demand from rubbish European teams). Terminated Chen's loan (to free up a foreign spot).

Made some interesting signings - Mark Viduka, Ivan Campo, & Theo Lucius. Lucius is an awesome signing - I remember back in much earlier FMs he was a superstar. He's a fullback, but I'm going to play him as a ball-winning support centre mid. Also picked up Vicelich. All these players were signed on free transfers. Have maxed out my salary cap now though.

Just played my first match - a friendly against East Coast Bays. Playing a weird formation (3142):

--------------Greenacre---------Viduka-------------
---------------------------------------------------------
--Daniel----Diego--------Lucius-------------Ifill------
----------------Ivan Campo---------------------------
-------Durante----McKain----Vicelich----------------
------------------------Paston-------------------------

Would have probably started Crowther, but he's injured for 2 months - could really have done with another keeper.

Had moments of decent football in friendly, eventually winning 3-0, looked a bit better when I pushed my wingers into AML / AMR roles. Very odd and attacking looking formation though.

Can't wait to really get into this over the next few days.

hammered dunedin tech 4-0 in 2nd friendly, diego sensational - 2 scorchers from distance for an 8.7 rating (67 minutes). He's unstoppable against rubbish teams, being two footed. will be interesting to see how he goes against decent a-league clubs. viduka also scored a good goal - however overall plenty of sloppy passes etc, so a lot to work on.

Lia is pretty good in this game, I'm loving the Deigo/Lia midfield combination.
