I was reading the latest British article on Hudson and I was wondering if all the time between games means that he actually talks himself into beliieving what he says, whereas if he had more time with the team and more fixtures he'd have a bit more of a reality check.
It will be interesting to see if he's still as upbeat (best all whtites squad ever, etc) after the games against the US and Mexico.

I thought that too at first, but I think he is being quite disingenuous.
In the two articles I have seen he has claimed he has had a great start in NZ, he neglects to mention that in his first 2 years the All Whites played only 6 games before the Oceania Nations Cup (in which they won only 1), he doesn't mention that he used 38 different players in his first 4 games and while he goes on about NZ qualifying for the Confederations Cup unbeaten, for a guy who loves to name check (see the number of pics of him with famous coaches in the Mirror article) he definitely doesn't name check any of the teams we played in winning the Oceania Nations Cup.
These articles smack of self promotion and I reckon he is angling for a half decent All Whites showing in Russia and then he can get a job at an English club (as boss or assistant)
Of course if he manages to get us to the World Cup in Russia 2018 I will forgive him, but I doubt this will happen

It seems Mr Hudson lives in a world that is someway removed from reality. The truth is at the time of his appointment it was generally agreed that we had the most talented batch of young players that the AW's had ever had. We had for the first time attacking options with players like Thomas, Rojas, Costa etc who were in good pro clubs playing exciting football.
Fast forward two years and I think that AW football is considerably worse off.....in fact catastrophicaly worse off This has nothing to do with lack of games. Its due to the appointment of an inexperianced coach who, while great at power point presentation and taking selfies with world coaching stars appears to lack the ability to coach.
I could go on about the devaluation of the AW shirt by handing out international caps(40+) like confetti, I could go on about the failure to grasp that there is no way kids playing amateur local football can foot it at international level. What is obvious to any football observer is that this guy is struggling.
When you observe a coach the first thing you look out for is what style of football they are trying to coach. Its their choice and they live or die by the results. Ricki had a style and he was at times very succesful. You always new what you were going to get.
Hudson came in and said he was a Bielsa disciple. It became quite obvious after his first half a dozen games that he didn't have a clue how to coach this style of football. Fast forward to the last tournament. Hudson decided to play longball in Papua NG. He had a longish camp before hand to impliment this style with his players. But the AW's play in PNG was terrible ....they got through with a huge slice of luck. It appears that he is unable to coach longball either.
So what to the future.....he is now consulting the Pep Guadiola of English football.....Sam Alladyce. Long ball Sam!!!! perhaps he will try and perfect this technique against Mexico and the USA. In the meantime we are seeing articles like in the Mirror. 100% self promotion.
Mr Hudson is just setting himself up for his next step. He will spread the word that he now has Taylor, ex England coach working under him. He will do the Confederations cup. Get more selfies with famous people and then leave NZ....pointing out that the thrashings the AW's recieved were beyond his control as he got no support in NZ
Should have appointed Ramon...at least he knows how to coach!!!!!
