Goal fest in Minnesota, who lead NY City 3-2 at HT in MLS.

Jeez, he got made to look a bit silly for Toronto's last goal. Ball basically nipped off his nose...

I'm sure he'll be disappointed, but Minnesota are looking a lot more threatening as a team this year. Just need to sort out that defence, conceding 7 in the past 2. Not going to win too many matches of football if they can't tighten up.

Penance for some howlers last week, finds Boxall on the bench as Minnesota host Zlatan and the Galaxy.

Finishes 0-0.

Not a great game for Boxall & Co. Lose 4-3 at Toronto after being up 3-2. Also two Minnesota players are sent off late.

Toronto's Pozuelo a hit already in the MLS.

Pozuelo could be a bigger hit at TFC than Giovinco.

Interesting yesterday TFC,Leafs,Raptors and Blue Jays all won.

had no idea pozuelo had left the Belgian Pro league tbh

On the bench again. This time Minnesota beat DC United 1-0 at home.

Rooney got 90 mins for DC.

On the pine as Minnesota draw 1-1 with Seattle Sounders.

Unfortunately in the 3 games Boxall has been benched, Minnesota have only conceded 1 goal. All 3 matches have been at home, and still yes early in the season, so time for him to come back in.

However likely his howlers in the Toronto game won't be forgotten in a hurry.

If he continues to be on the outer over the next few months, Boxall snr may consider a move away from the US. A possible return to Wgtn if offered the Nix captaincy? Happy to start some wild speculation. The whole licence issue would need to be resolved first you would imagine.

Others to watch will be Wynne & Smith. Both Huddo pickups at the Rapids. They could become surplus to requirements at Colorado as the MLS season moves along.

I feel Durante retires then Boxall on the right, Steve in the middle and Wynne on the left of a three man centre defence would be fine

Auckland will rise once more

Boxall is on nz$400k in the MLS, he would need to be released in December for us to have any shot at re-signing him.

Okay in that case could probably only work, if come say around October Minnesota were out of the MLS playoff hunt, and Boxall was then just a squaddie fixture in their setup. In that instance Minnesota may release him early on a free.

Will be interesting if in next few months he can get back into starting eleven, or if the slide becomes a bit permanent.

He said when he left us that he wanted to play in the middle and that formed part of his decision to leave.

Surely meaning CB instead of RB?

Going to play and live in South Africa, as he did was really all about money I’d suggest.

Sounds like he's been really poor for Minnesota; so I wouldn't be surprised if he was released.

Would love him to come back and start as our captain

Is he good enough to replace Dura? As Rudan showed start from the back and build forward.

On the bench as Minnesota lose 2-0 at Chicago Fire.

a back line of Boxall and Taylor would be brilliant. Both are big guys and we won't have to shark ourselves every time the opposition swings in a corner or free kick

Boxall is definitely prone to regular errors, just don't think we have many better kiwi choices at the moment.

so is Durante though. Kopa definitely was, same with Doyle and Golec and Lowry. Overall you'd have to agree that he would at least be an upgrade on all of them

Next question- is he good enough for tempting money and can we offer it?

He's a very good CB. I thought I read somewhere he was on about $US 250k or did I imagine that? Surely we could afford that for a starting CB?

US$267k, so approx AU$382k. The salary cap is AU$3m, so that is a good chunk of it on one player. They would need to be one of your best players to spend that much on them.

Would Singh or Cacace qualify for a youth marquee as that would fall out of the cap etc if we needed to make room?

I'd sign him in a heart beat - him and Smith would make a decent pairing in the back with Taylor.

Krishna wants significantly more than that to stay

No such thing anymore. It's a 200k allowance for 3 homegrown players. Top teams basically use that to pay for their 3 u20 players outside the cap.

Krishna allegedly turned down $750k (Aus) per season for three seasons from the Bitumens, so yes, one would think so.

90 plus mins as Minnesota lose 3-0 in Atlanta.

Was only 1-0 until 90 min mark. Home team score twice late on the counter.

https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/05/29/highlights-atlanta-united-vs-minnesota-united-fc-may-29-2019?autoplay=true

Impressive crowds in Atlanta.

Boxall with a saved shot.

Atlanta's double goal scorer Martinez (one of 4 Argies in starting lineup) with ugliest teeth you will see.

Boxall's CB partner Opara with a late very bad brain fade.

On the bench as Minnesota lose 2-3 at home to Philadelphia Union.

Union actually top of Eastern Conference at the moment.

Minnesota 6th in the West.

Fark, this guy is such a good player, it's sad that he's spending time on the bench in a poor MLS side

Hopefully he can sort his slump out soon

If only there was a club in his home country that desperately needs him and has enough cap space to give him a good deal
