Dallas beat the Rams 35 - 7

Tony Romo's second consecutive 300 yard passing game , Dallas 500+ yards of total offense.
Play of the game Dallas ball 3rd and 3, Romo in shotgun, the Dallas center snaps the ball over his head, when Romo finally picks it up he is 33 yards behind the line of scrimmage and still runs for a first down.

Brilliant.

4 - 0

Griese threw 3 INTs.......can you hear them begging for Rex to come back yet?! hahahahaha

Story of the Day: Culpeppers runs for 3 TDs AGAINST the Dolphins, when he got in the endzone he pointed to his reconstructed knee and then telling (motioning) to the Miami crowd that his knee was OK! hahahahaha eat that Zach Thomas u over-rated knucklehead.

I thought his naked bootleg was the best though.

The Eagles go down 16-3 to the Giants.

What'd the Eagles do, get 11 guys from the carpark to play offense?

They only had 14 yards net passing...

I might be a Lions fan but surely the story of the day is Favre breaking Marino's record for most TD's thrown in the history of the NFL.

Three for me, and two for them.

Cincinnati Bengals FTW!

Havnt been keeping up with results but go for them because of family member live not far from the ground. When i went to Cincinnati i got an on-field top, and its massive but well worth it.

Yeah that has to be the story of the day, but also with amazing stats 12 sacks for the Giants and 6 for Umenyiora.

Anyone played Madden 08? Any good Got '07 on Wii a while ago although good to play at start with new controls, still play NFL 2k5 most.

The Eagles should get rid of their O-line and replace it with turnstiles. They'd be more effective

i've got Madden 08 on PS2 and its outstanding. Im in my 2nd season with the steelers and we're 4-1 (last second loss to NY Giants our only blemish).

2k5 is pants, that whole series is pants!

Best play in the book: Singleback Strong Slot PA Cross Up. Put Holmes in the slot and if a LB covers him, throw before the cut, if a safety covers him, launch it long from up in the pocket......TD TD TD!

Skins trounced us today.

Jeez i can't make my mind up about the Lions this season.

Three for me, and two for them.

I've played Madden 05, 06 and 07 and I don't like the way they play. When you play it's all about the players and little to do with you, it doesn't feel like your even involved. Everything feels like a push and hope, you can't follow runs and pick out open players unless they are extremely open other than that its throw and hope and hail mary's are incredibly easy.

Although they have lots of options, mini games and I like the blocker option, I'd rather play 2k5.

Also EA player models are overly blurred and smoothed and I don't like many of their titles, but that a different subject.

So is 08 and massive improvement on 07?
08 Oct 20:37 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
ur obviously not using the game to its full potential then! there is a "switchback" mode which has been improved for 08 which i use on every running play when im using a dual-back formation (I, Strong, Weak etc).

As an example, in the Steelers playbook (Strong I formation) there is a play called Strong I Counter Weak. With Dan Kreider at FB and Willie Parker at RB, this is nearly a sure fire way to gain at least 5 yards, with the potential to bust a long one if all goes to plan.

You will see in the illustration that the FB comes across the RB and blocks up towards the LG, who in turn is blocking his man. Against a 4-3 defense, this is generally all you will need as the C who is pulling left also helps to develop a lane inside or suck defenders in to open up the outside. be careful not to sprint with the RB to early though, or you will outrun you block.

The TE on the strong side can also be utilised as a blocker. In my case I have Greg Olsen, a rookie that i got in a trade with the Colts, while not a GREAT run blocker, puttin him in motion (pink route) before the snap and then snapping the ball once he's between the G and T = a winner! The TE motion is something i'll use against a 3-4 or 46 defense or if the FS or SS have come up to the line. Otherwise, he just does his normal blocking route (green)

Now, switchback mode - you can either run this play from the "normal" camera or take control of FB Dan Kredier PRE snap.....hit X to snap the ball and run the blocking route he is assigned. Once you engage a OLB or another defender, hit the switchback button (i think O) and take control of RB Willie Parker......and the rest is history.

Thats the end of todays lesson.

17-10 Bills - Halftime
09 Oct 04:00 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Cowboys win 25-24 on a last second field goal; after failing to get a 2-point conversion with about 30 secs to go, they recovered an on-side kick and got into position for a 53-yard FG.

Romo was rubbish though, 5 picks and a lost fumble, though he did throw for 2 TDs.el grapadura2007-10-10 11:40:39

I saw the last half. Unbelievable game. Why does that sort of thing always happen to the Bills? They are one jinxed team. The first Superbowl I ever saw was against the Giants when the winning kick went wide right. They then lost the next 3 superbowls in a row. Its easier being a Lions fan (believe it or not?).
10 Oct 08:33 · edited 09 Sep 04:59

Phew! 9 points in the last 20 seconds to win the game.

I thought my 5-0 prediction was going down the toilet. Still it's good to be able to win ugly and the defense is getting better every game (only gave up 3 points).

Still, if they play like that next week, even at Texas Stadium, then Brady and the Pats will rip them apart.

15 Oct 03:50 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Phew, finally got off the mark. Excellent first half from the Saints, though we sorely missed McAllister in the second but the D stood up pretty well.
And Brees didn't throw any picks, woohoo...

Just how good are the Pats?

Three for me, and two for them.

16 Oct 02:13 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
they are just plain scary - nothing more you can say really. even though they lack a TRUE running game they are just devastating through the air.
16 Oct 08:59 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Adrian Peterson is scary and he's only a Rookie. 200+ yards 3TD's and a big kickoff return to set up the game winning FG.

Good to see LT back on track too, he scored an awesome 4 yard jump over the Linesmen (his O line and def D line). Check it out on NFL.com, they have good quality videos that load quick.
16 Oct 20:57 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
don't get too carried away with Peterson - yes he had a great game against a Bears defense that has been very poor ALL season to date. I'd like to see AD (all-day peterson) up against a very good defense and then we'll see how he goes.

LT - finally! THE running back in the NFL is back to his hall-of-fame best. Rivers worries me tho.

It's not like that performance was out of the blue, he's been rushing 100 yards a game, I'm considering getting rid of Larry Johnson because he's been so good, plus I need a good receiver and I also got Ronnie Brown.

Oh gutting, Steelers rallied back but got burnt on a last second Elam field goal. Steelers 14 behind going into last quarter, get back even with just over a minute to go, Cutler marches them to the about the 30 and Elam slots a 48yarder.

Saints starting to get some wins, maybe enough for my prediction of them is SB, probably not. Only JUST beat a really poor Falcons team. When is Deuce getting back?

Deuce is on IR, so he's not coming back this year. The running game will be a problem for the rest of the season, we're looking to run by committee with Reggie getting the most carries, but sharing them with Aaron Stecker and rookie Pierre Thomas.
The good news is that Brees has started looking like the QB he was last season, and the defense has improved no end in the last two weeks, with more aggressive play-calling the trademark. Good enough for Superbowl this year? The very poor 0-4 start suggests not, but we're in the NFC South where there's no-one to really be scared of, so definitely in the running for a division win and the playoffs. It'd probably be a blessing in disguise not to make the Superbowl, as whichever NFC team makes it will in all likelihood be crushed by the Pats.

Another win for the Saints, but they are relying of Drew Brees and the passing game. Good to see Colston doing well too (fantasy wise for me)

I hope the Pats don't win this year, damn cheating (expletive)'s.

Drew Brees seems to be back - first 4 games of the season 1 TD pass, 9 INT; last three games 8 TD passes, 1 INT.

3-4, only one game behind the division leaders Carolina Panthers. Great stuuf from Jax for beating the Bucs too.

Griese got intercepted 4 times, three times in the end-zone. Next thing you know they'll want Rex back.

Just proves that getting to the Superbowl last season without a QB was indeed a fluke.

Huge game this weekend - almost like a mid seaon Superbowl. Patriots v Colts.

a) Who do you think will win?
b) Who do you want to win?
c) Who has the best QB?

For me its..a) Pats  b) Colts  c) Manning
