Upper Hutt drew 1-1 with Vic Uni which didn't help them. Had a pen saved too. Need results to go their way now.

Wharf 2-0 over the Bubbles.

According to Capital Football Tables, Upper Hutt is bottom with 11 points, Petone 14 points and Olympic 15 points. Each team has one game to play so Upper Hutt is relegated.

Very disappointing for Upper Hutt but they are a big club and can bounce back quickly.

Not necessarily. If they snuck into 9th they may get a playoff game with third in Cap 1 (assuming IBU stay second)

certainly a heated finish in cap prem. Greeks dropping and failing, BNU celebrating like they have won the league, and Mick with a few cheeky comments

Really hard on Wellington United with the last round been moved to the 22nd. How many players will they have unavailable due to the NZA v Phoenix game in New Plymouth.

Hope Capital Football and Wharfies have some common sense and move the game to another date, it would be cruel to have the season decided on this!

Well that's just  the way Capital Premier rocks. In the latter part of the season you also get the Central League clubs dropping key players down to their reserve team in Premier Grade to ensure survival. This can impede clubs looking for promotion to the Central League having to come up against these reserve teams

I'm sure that Karori in years gone by have been hindered by this..

Has CF ever suspended an entire leagues progress for a catchup game before?  I haven't been around long enough, but there must be a precedent set at some stage for this to happen?

The reasoning as I understand is so that "everybody knows where they stand going into the last round" is rather sceptical.  The catch-up game only impacts 2 teams, Karori and United, who else cares?  So why suspend the entire league for the game?  Why not finish the rounds as they were drawn, and play the catchup game on the 22nd?

I thought there was a rule that the game could not be rescheduled if it was within 10 working days of being played!  (Unless both teams agree) so have cap footy broken their own rule??

It's one thing to be affected by other clubs stacking teams etc... Totally another to be affected by scheduling by capital...

Does seem to unfairly advantage Karori in the title race.

up the wharf, have seen very few games all season unfortunately but the games I have seen I've been impressed. Haven't seen the weenix kids play

It is pretty stupid. I understand the premise, but in this case there's no possible affect on relegation so common sense should have prevailed.

Ah life. It is a tough thing you're right.

I'll just note that the "it's life" argument didn't stop wharf moaning about reserve teams playing on Sundays etc.

Mind you. I do love to watch a man try to keep the cake he's eating.

And in other news: Wgtn Utd ask CF for an A-League window for Cap2 next season.

Game this weekend Kapiti v Wharf should be a big one – decides what the equation is going into the final round. See ya there!

This.

You might be mistaken there.

Tawa are dropping into cap prem and maybe a Wellington team will not be taking their place in central league.

Another point is if Capital Football want to go like the EPL and schedule everyone to play their last game in the same weekend so not to disadvantage anyone, all games should be played at the same time. I note for this rounds there are games at 1.30, 2.30 and 3.30.

Still lots to play for in the last week of Prem football for 2015

Results yesterday in Cap1 confirm Upper Hutt relegated, with the race for the automatic 2nd relegation spot between Petone who play University, Olympic who play Upper Hutt or BNU who have Miramar.

Of Course there could even be 3 if either Karori or Wellington don't win their play off game to go up to C/L. They play each other in the last game to decide who is champion!

2015 Capital Premier decider between @WKAFC and @WgtnUnited now scheduled for 10.30am Saturday @CapFootball

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

What a joke from Capital football, change the playing field in a way to make sure Diamonds go up!

It's their home game and they have played many of them at Wakefield so this could well be anyway with most grass pitches fudgeed... not sure that stands up.

Timing and the move could be a favouritism call, ground not so much.

Not sure Wharf have much room to complain here. Moving the game a few hours earlier seems to be a win-win. Wgtn United get to field their best team and those players still get to play for the Pheonix/NZ A.

From a neutral's stand point it seems fair that both teams have all their players available rather than Wharf get an advantage from the timetabling.

The Wee Nix has certainly had the red carpet rolled out. I recall earlier in the season Island Bay accommodated them by changing the timing of a game.

Really clever change by Cap footy. Wharf coach and several players unavailable at that 10.30AM time - genuinely. How many senior games are played in that time slot. Clearly a one way communication with United and Cap footy to orchestrate this change. Wharf were not consulted ! The integrity or fairness of the competition has been diminished by one team (United) being granted special dispensation to avoid a necessary consequence already experienced by all teams throughout the season. Player availability throughout the season affects all clubs which is routinely managed among their own club resources. Why should United gain any special treatment. CF should avoid bias and apply the existing format to all teams in the division equally.

No special dispensation or treatment has been applied if United applied for the change 10 days before the match. And there's also no need for the opposition to provide consent if the change was requested 10 days before the match, as per the regulations Wharfies agreed to when they entered the league this year.

Integrity and fairness of the comp? Really?

The integrity and fairness of the comp is surely served by both teams putting their best team out for what is effectively is a final.

I think Wharf's eyes lit up at the prospect of playing a depleted United and now that's been taken away they're biffing toys all over the playroom.

But they shouldn't be. They have a team more than capable of beating United's kids.
