When are Olympic fans ever happy with the ref?

Was looking at the stats and think Olympic fans would be more upset with the outstanding stat that since the Central League was re-introduced in 12 years ago in 2005 they have only ever managed to beat Miramar twice, 2-0 at home in 2005 and 3-0 away in 2010

If you include the two Chatham Cup games between them since 2005 - Olympic have played Miramar 26 times, won 2, drawn 6 and lost 18, scoring 37 goals and conceding 74.

The ref was poor- but can't blame him for the loss . Miramar took there chances and Olympic didn't, end of story.

Yes the player in the long black shorts under his white strip shorts should have been carded and sent to change, for MCL consistency. lol

Edit - Yes - been texted it was a Chatham Cup game, for the card. just sent to change in MCL games.

2-0 lower Hutt v Wests.

Lower Hutt scored in the first 60s from a corner. followed up with a shot from over halfway, over the head of the West's goalie

Lower Hutt then went all behind the ball, West's has the vast majority of posession but unable to break down Lower Hutt.

So that's Wests gone-burger?

Good result for LH. Who of note did they have out there? Or was it a good team performance?

Permalink Permalink

I don't know the LH team well enough to say. They came out with a gameplay, and soaked up the pressure, and still arguably had the best chance of the second half.

West's played the second half with three at the back, Harry edge ended up playing 10-ish. Would be fair to say the younger West's players struggled physically up front; assume that's why the formation change.

Good Team performance. Backline was well organised. Both CB's #6-Kade Schrijvers and #14-James Marsh had a great game. K Schrijvers saved them a number of times and scored great header. Midfield worked hard all game. #20-Taylor Schrijvers gave the Wests quite a few problems in there. They struggled to contain him.#12-Sam Dewar scored from halfway(chipped Wests keeper who was way, way out).Great speculative Goal!

Was game of boys against Men.

Was entertaining game - worth the freezing cold and rain on a Friday night!!

Names and numbers from programme, so hope they were wearing the right shirts.

two left in the battle - big games for Napier required to pip Olympic.

Miramar maybe hobbled having to take on Wairarapa 7pm Tuesday in Masterton.

Guess would be some players won't make the game

7pm Tuesday? Why would they ever agree to that?

Olympic have one game left v Stop Out on 20 August - they win that they win the league

Napier have PN Marist & Lower Hutt (both away) - they could win both those and still finish 3rd now

Mar have Wairarapa (a) then Lower Hutt & Petone at home -If they win all those and Stop Out beat Olympic they will win the league

Guess so they can have all the teams still in contention playing at the same time on the 20th.

But yeah, that's tough

Then this happens-(makes total sense with the rush to play make up games at poor times to get season finished)

Holy crap, was that actually the NCR first choice keeper or some guy they met in the pub and agreed to fill in 10 minutes before the game?

poor guy he was honking. Also NCR should film from other side of the pitch, irritating that all the videos are obscured  by a massive blue pole
