I saw the game against ECB (and we caught 15 of another game but can't remember the opposition) and you were in it until the half and then your lads struggled when ECB upped it. I think that experience would make a difference. Your CB cost you the game in that he gave away too many fouls in silly places and got dragged out of position way too easily. Then he got himself sent off with a seriously dumb foul which... well experience would fix that but you learn.

yeah that game was disappointing in how it played out - for what it's worth the "dumb foul" at the end was discussed at length around the table up at the club later with both Ellerslie and ECB supporters and it was a pretty even split about it's valdility (some EAFC fans thought it was and some ECB fans thought it wasn't) seems the angle was crucial to your point of view on the incident - having said that if the call wasn't made then we still did struggle when ECB upped the ante in the second half, but we still had chances in that game to steal a point.

Yep experience would solve that for the most part.

FYI - the tall CB had a stormer of the game today - not sure RC will agree with me but i thought he played really well.

If he played well Central wouldnt of had so many chances.
Ordinary at the back but dangerous going forward from the few games ive seen this year that #7 looked very good today the old fella #16 really should consider hanging up his boots
Dont get Dowling over Hawes though? Dowling always been average

Interesting Chopah. 3 of us thought it was relatively straight forward. Football is a funny game sometimes.

Dowlings problem is that he is not a catcher of the ball. Great reaction saves get you so far but allergic to catching the ball (or has the dropsies if he tries) There was a young boy there Aidan Kenelly (spelling?) What happened to him?

Grumpy old bastard alert

i don't think they had that many chances to be honest - a couple of clear cut misses but apart from that i think we did a good job of shutting them down on the edge of the box - i felt like Central got to the edge of the box - were not prepared to take a shot and looked for a killer ball or another pass and got shut down.

i agree Dylan played really well but i didn't see what you did with 16 - i thought he did well to link play so we could release Dylan and Will out wide.

i guess that's football though - everyone see's it slightly different.

Aidan was here um about 5 or 6 years ago i think - he had major injury issues and just didn't kick on.  Tim has been good for us and Sean has added to the competition for places this year and we are pretty happy with our keeper options this season.

Yeah I knew he was at City. Was it really that long ago when he was at Ellerslie? Wow. I think I saw him at Michaels Ave against Ngaruawahia and also at Centre Park against Mangere. I am getting old (er than I thought)

ha ha - yeah it might even be longer than that to be honest - i can't really remember after so many seasons with the club, some things just blur into one.

yep no real distance shots ,too desperate to play " cute " backheels etc thru very heavy traffic ...no plan B , some truly dire defending ,,,Elles took chances well

IBU vs BNU was a painful game to watch, for a BNU supporter. Even at 4-3 down we were still looking good but those final 10mins killed us completely.

Ellerslie only scored one goal themselves so fail to see how they took there "chances"???
Defending so dire they conceded only 2 goals?
So Ellerslie took there chances against dire defending??
Bit of a contradiction there I think

Three Kings Utd won 7-1 at Manurewa the other week  got to favour them again even Memorial Park

Glenfield Rovers v Birkenhead Utd to close to call for me probably just pick Rovers at home

agree with all the rest though

be interesting to see if Ellerslie can back up yesterdays win

Roslyn Wakari vs Northern. Both celebrating their 125th this season. Roslyn beat Northern on Saturday 3-1.

Caversham vs Dn Tech. Needs no introduction. Match of the round. First meeting finished 2all.

Home advantage doesn't mean a lot when it comes to Birko-Glenfield matches. More than likely you will see twice as many Birko fans there than Rovers fans, as is the norm.

Three for me, and two for them.

Would expect a couple of hundred Birkenhead supporters at the game - club has one of the biggest set of travelling supporters (including kids) in Auckland and local derbies always well attended.

Better play it on a Sunday then as I didnt see 200 Birkenhead Utd supporters when Central Utd played them last month at Shepherds Park????

I can't help it if you can't count Chester FC.... :)

Was at least a hundred watching from clubrooms and plenty more around the ground.  Turnout maybe a little under the 200 but given the rain was still decent.

Karori goal scorers were Andrew Gordon (3), Hayden Polyanzsky, John Sutherland (pen), Matt Lewer.

Lewer also hit the bar in the last minute .. could have been 7-0.
