How about the 2 of you have a cage fight to raise funds for Cappo instead. Be better than trying sell a pair of Spud murphy's old socks.

I could come and be player/coach your team AJ13 but I'd be wasting my time as you think bad luck is the only reason you ae losing each week.

Ive never played for the 3rds, and until last season id never played lower than Cap2, actually. At least I can post in the Cap Prem thread knowing Ive played many a game in that grade....

Very entertaining match at Newtown Park- 3-3 twixt Stop Out and Oranje- Whilst SO showed fight and endeavour i'd have to say it was 3pts lost for Utd after leading 2-0 with 20 to go

I left Endeavour with about 15mins to go, Wests were down 5-0 to IBU. Two penalties, one in each half, both initially missed by the ref but pulled up by the assistants. I think half time was 2-0

Wharf snuck past Bubbles 3-2 apparently at Te Whaea.  Much angst about officiating.

Can confirm it ended 5-0 and was indeed 2-0 at HT.

I think I might be bad luck for that Suburbs team, I still haven't watched a win from them

Good for the neutral wit plenty of drama. 1-1 at half time and the bubbles led 2-1 with less than 10 on the clock.

Oly second goal was right in front of SMithy and I and we both thought he was half a yard offside.

Karori's winner was originally flagged for an offside non-goalscoring player, but was over ruled by the ref as he was deemed the player was not involved in the play.

Can anyone shed any light on the Wainui vs Miramar match programme from the weekend? I was chatting to one of the Wainui players and he said it had jokes about Bin Laden in it and other "weird racist stuff", but he wouldn't amplify. Sounds interesting to say the least.

Yes agreed very entertaining match at Newtown but hardly 3pts lost by Utd when they have equalised in 91st minute and Stop out hit the post when 3-2 up!

I don't believe any of those players actually play for Karori.

I smell a scandal.

"Columbus" Waterside Karori get a new signing and the Vanuatu FA make it sound like a good thing. Columbus Waterside, OK, Columbus sailed the ocean blue and Karori Park is often an ocean but its more a brown than blue. But didn't Duncan Oughton play for Karori and Columbus Crew. Easy mistakes to make I guess.

Its no longer a problem.

We were called Colombus Waterside Karori (20 years ago) numnuts. Not sure how they called us that though, maybe Colin Tuaa didn't know it had changed. Still, maybe Colombus Line (if they still exist) will give us crap loads of $ like they used to now.

OK, my bad. Didn't realise Warfies used to be Columbus Warfies. I'd only played footy in Wellington for 13 years so before my time.

Its no longer a problem.

The name Columbus Waterside came about because the Columbus Shipping Co was the sponsor,

Columbus Warterside was the registered name of the club. (there was never a waterside workers strike in Wellington when a Columbus owned ship was in port)

Columbus Shipping was owned by a German at the time it sponsored Warfies, then it was sold to an a Ammerican and the sponsorship endeed. critter2011-05-11 12:29:29

I used to play as a junior for Karori Swifts - we had West Ham colours.  Was always very jealous of Waterside having the Toon strip.

Merger was good.

I remember in the 80's as a wee man and the old man was  playing for wharfies (183 appearances infact as greenie pointed out to me last night) , the majority of the guys that were supporters, committee members, coaches etc all worked on the Wellington Wharves. Roger Blakes,Alfie Attards,John Bulls, etc  I guess a lot of the Columbus association was associated with these guys

Was at the Miramar Upper Hutt game. Miramar were good for the win and Upper Hutt looked bereft of ideas to be honest. Michael Smith had too much class at the back and did brilliantly to make the second goal.Toffeeman662011-05-22 09:35:21

Wests 1 - 3 Marist

Suburbs reduced to 10 and had manager dismissed in the first half, then had another player sent off about ten minutes into the second. The game was basically attack v. defense for the rest, and Marist only managed to break through in the dying minutes, and then clinched it as Suburbs pressed for a last ditch equaliser on the counterattack.

Endeavour was a bowling green yet again, and a far cry from the Alex Moore pitch I had to suffer through this morning.

Pretty much sums up the game really

Marist pretty dominant in first half. Could of had a couple. Lad who got sent was deserved, should of been a straight red for this first booking. Slide tackle through the back of a Marist lads legs, off the ground, studs up, a shocker.

Second half was just a shambles really. One or two Wests boys worked their ring off, and we were just a bit to slow in our attacks.

I thought the ref to be honest did alright. Booked players for very loud swearing and was consistent with it. The second red card seemed harsh from my angle, but that's just my angle

I actually reckon Wests would be pretty disapointed to not have grabbed a win out of that. Their best chances came after they were reduced to 9 men, had a couple of chances that went begging. But in saying that Kahlid up front could have easily had 3 or 4

who was the manager who got sent? Captain Kirk?

It was indeed Feverish, and it was his son Abe who got sent first, with a second yellow for not retreating 10 yards from a free kick...
