Only Big Cheese and Dinamo Chris to enter their picks for this round.

Foal30 has done it twice, with completely different results. Do it again and I'll take the latest one and delete the others.

He left Halswell but part of him must still be stuck in the pitch

It's hard not to back and old [2 ways] club. Not that old really are they just by modern standards.

He must have a beer on them staying up.

Does he pick Western to lose every week.

I'm rooting for Coastal and CTFC to be within 3 points of each other when they play.

I'm picking Tech to drop 4 points and CS 2 [get a draw v CT] before the last weekend of fixtures.

Great way for the neutrals to pick a game to watch on the last game day CS v Nelson for the title or CT v FC20.

3 points for CS in the other games may not be enough for Coastal with GD taken into account.

Anyway I could be wrong and you guys get all 3 points v CT, still makes the last day a good one.

yes not a proud moment, but it was a storm in a tea cup. Sorry that the clubs good name got tarnished

Will be interesting to what happen if the MPL goes down to the wire and Cashmere Technical make to the semi-finals of the Chatham Cup as the semi's are set down for the same weekend as Round 21 in the MPL.

A storm in a teacup you say? I suspect that might be what you are hoping it will be, rather than what it actually is. One could argue this has besmirched the good name of the MPL also, and if I recall correctly, you were leading the charge last year for sanctions (I may be inaccurate in the actual words but I can't be arsed going back 97 pages looking for it!) and so on against Coastal after they put young Steve Ager on the field in one of the last games of that season.

Or was that worse than this somehow? I would love to hear how you see these incidents comparing.

I would also point out that apologising for the damage done/caused by your actions is different to apologising FOR your actions in the first instance.

I think you'll find I did apologise if you read the article right, also yes you could be right. It could be bringing the game into disrepute ,  you don't see me hiding from it.

I also fronted to my club before the article ,

I'd say Coastal playing Steve Agar in an MPL game was a much bigger disgrace than the Cash Tech lads getting a bit rowdy on a plane...

Let's weigh that up then:

Last minutes of the last game of the season, result of game had no impact on the league. JB calls it a disgrace and could impact on sponsors and appeal of the league.

CT players and coach get "a bit rowdy" (which actually means yelling over the safety instructions, warnings from crew, police and security removing from plane). Headline news on Stuff and will probably make the paper tomorrow.   JB calls it a storm in a teacup.

Makes sense.

It's easy to see how the latter happens though - 'boys will be boys' type stuff - not that it's excusable. The first one is mind boggling behaviour from all involved. Yeah, being splashed all over Stuff and The Press ain't a great look. The Tech plane incident only pissed one guy off, though, who complained to them, then accepted an apology - so, yup, storm in a teacup.

I can see that we aren't going to agree on this so I won't bang on about it however I don't think it only pissed one person off. You would probably add in the rest of the people on the plane that were stuck on the tarmac, the crew and the police and the security. But whatever.

It's going off on Stuff's Facebook page too at the moment by the way. Not a good look, and certainly no storm in a teacup considering the comments and who they are from.

And I don't think the 'boys will be boys' and 'away trips since forever' are very good mottos for life either.

I never asked for sanctions with Steve I did  say it wasn't great for the mpl, actually it was disgrace, but Coastal got sanctioned for playing a non registered player in Steve and were fined , not because he is 50+ ,so It was reported on here . Although I wasn't proud of being told of for being noisy, I never broke any law or rule. I listened to the briefing . If you feel I've put the mpl in disrepute complain. Itdidn't mention mpl In the article , it didn't mention a lot of things actually . Again I'm a big lad and can accept anything you feel is justified but I will fight tooth in nail to things you throw at me that is bullshark, you and your lads drink at mpl games and that is a Nono if unlicensed , I don't have an issue but maybe it's bringing mpl into disrepute.

just to make it clear my comment of storm in a tea cup  , that is not taking away the fact that we put our/myelf in the position in the first place

You accept responsibility, and I do for the article being in the public forum and unlike the Steve thing will not shy away from the fact that I let the club down . Personally I was supprised it made the press, as it was a storm in a tea cup but I'm to blame as I'm the head coach and take all the responsibility

What was impressive?

As a person who has come under the pump on this forum and to my face regarding a hole bunch of things including my occupation and watching football with a beer in my hand I guess it has been funny to see how something major can be deflected as a storm in a teacup and how things "could' have been done better. As much as I deplore the comments on Facebook it has been interesting to see how the general public sees this matter and the subsequent reactions.

So we'll both go back to doing what we do, and hopefully lessons (no pun intended) have been learnt. From the comments after the fact I'm not so sure they have been but who am I to judge?

Lessons have been learnt and there is a whole side to the story I won't go into, so will accept that we/I were out of order.

I have read the comments on stuff, again won't hide from them and I'll expect to get shark from you and slushy on here for a while, facing you is nothing compared to explaining to my kids. Again we put our selfs in the firing line so I do expect bullets , I don't condone what happened but nothing came of it because it was not deemed serious. I will still be on here giving it back , to you but . Maybe can't defend actions of the plane 3 weeks ago

Hopefully this whole situation brings back the good old aeroplane celebration.

There is quite a difference between leading nobly from the front, sacrificing yourself for the sake of others and by doing so setting a good example, but you have (to use your firing line metaphor) pretty much leapt butt nekked out of the trench with a target on your arse here*

*Apologies for any traumatic mental imagery this post has triggered

Some of the comments on FB/Stuff were pretty average/unnecessary I thought. The wonders of the internet.

Surely there was some tomfoolery from the players/some of the players? Broonie has done well to take the blame for this whether on purpose or accident you have to admire that.

Yes more chance of Bays taking points off Tech than Halswell getting points Coastal. If Halswell play like they did against Western last round then hard to see the Hawks picking up any more points this season.
