Selwyn CCL Played Waimak today. I only saw the first half but at that stage Waimak were 1-0 up.  I know the result ended 2-1 to Waimak - So a big well done to the young Waimak side.  Also Officially Congratulate Nomads -  that pretty much seals the deal for them to progress to MPL next year, well earned!

So back to the drawing board for 2017.

Yes, Nomads at home to ChCh United next Saturday, with a win wrapping up the title with 4 games to spare.

Get your facts right mate. From what I heard they have a number of key players injured that will again be missing for the cup, plus a number away with the holidays. Before you make outrageous comments make sure you've got it right!

How long before they default in the CCL grade?

Picking Burwood to get a win in the CCL game tomorrow.

Christchurch United should prepare to pick up sticks and close up shop.  They add nothing - crap facilities (Apart from the Russian bailing them out and have no real players. Go Merge with someone else and say goodnight

That is a shame to hear about a club that has a significant history in NZ football

Oh boo, so it is. Now what am I supposed to do on Satdy? Boring.

Here is this weeks picks. Same deal with the two cups, it's a pick after 90 minutes. I've included the CCL so there's more than 2 games and it will also make Benchwarmer and Dan Ede happy.

Haha, if I'm not getting in trouble in this thread it's another.

In my own defence, I was only having a laugh as someone thought I called the referee an old bastard when I was actually referring to someone else. I may have said a naughty word and have since been told off.

Received from SUFC Email today:

Important Notice

Piri Reiri

IFANZ / Player Profiles

As some of you are aware, a large number of people fell victim to and lost significant amounts of money for IFANZ/Player Profiles organised 'football experience' trips to Spain, heavily marketed last year by Mr Piri Reiri and fellow Directors Graham McMann and Phil Walker.

Unfortunately these trips never eventuated and subsequently some of those affected took the matter up with the NZ Police.

In order to avoid anyone else getting caught up in his antics please note:

  • Criminal proceedings have commenced against Mr Reiri.
  • The NZ Courts have issued a warrant for his arrest for charge of theft.
  • Understood to be in Australia, Mr Reiri did not appear at a Court hearing 11th March 2016 to face charges.
  • Since then he has continued to contact players and parents in NZ and arrange trips as ‘agent’ for CF Cracks Academy in Valencia.
  • Not having passed on payments made to Mr Reiri for these, CF Cracks recently severed all ties with him and IFANZ / Player Profiles.
  • The NZ Police through Interpol is currently looking at extraditing Mr Reiri back to NZ.

We therefore advise our membership and others to tread with caution.

Will winning the English Cup be good enough to keep Halligan in a job?

Still a long way to go in the English Cup, three other teams to be found yet to join Bays in the semi's.

But theoretically if they win it, is it good enough to keep the job. Or does the English Cup not mean so much anymore?

Yes great history in the English Cup, older than the Chatham Cup so winning this should mean something.

Seems to me that it has gone the way of the FA cup?

Not at all. Great way to finish the season (after Coastal win the league) is to have a big day out at English Park to watch the Reta and then the English Cups.

I'll just turn up for the later game this year...

Chatham Cup is more equivalent to FA Cup, English Cup a better comparison to the League Cup (or Carling Cup or whatever it's called these days) imho

Gidday folks, unfortunately timtam I think the bishop's right. Uni have been disgraceful lately. Deserve to go down. Watched them against Bays and Tech. A big defeat in the last 16 of the Chatham cup just wouldn't be acceptable. Hopefully they show up, as they haven't in previous weeks..
