Heat preparedness actions that might have seemed unnecessary a couple of weeks ago could save Auckland FC as soon as this weekend.
Even before the temperatures in Australia were rising to record levels, at their training base in Albany Auckland FC players were training in jackets, reminiscent of raincoats, while the sun shone to ready themselves for hot temperatures during A-League games across the Tasman.
The "heat exposure" jackets and three times a week sauna sessions are part of what the players are doing this season to bridge the gap between home and away conditions.
Agreed. A few more of these 12k+ crowds will no-doubt really help boost their coffers for this season and next. Will only help the league to have one-less struggling team.
Plus, the Jets really are box-office viewing at the moment!

Over 12,000 inside McDonald Jones. Winning team...
I don't care who it is, I'm happy for any A League club to see the crowds return. The League needs all the good news stories it can get.
Though maybe happier for the 'box office' Jets than say if it was VUC.

Did some searching and it's their biggest home crowd in all competitions since the 17/18 GF when they finished runners-up. Over 29k showed up for that. Also the last season they actually made finals. The season after that they had one match which was attended by close to 12k.
I'm happy for them and hope they go all the way, Newcastle winning the league any day over Auckland.
Isn't Fraser from the PL? Or something close to that? RR
WSW score after 41 seconds!!! 0-1
Was on the outer at his Championship side. Played 180 odd Premiership games, 130 odd Championship games. Former Scottish international. Definitely one of the best pedigrees we have seen in the ALm recently. 1-1
Sail hurts his standing leg from a goal kick (apparently might have dislocated his knee), Woud comes on and 10 mins later gets lobbed from a route one Wootton assist.
Apart from goal kicks I don't think Woud has touched the ball yet. Both his goal kicks direct into touch. To be fair a bit of breeze now.
