- Black Knights FC

- Auckland FC
- Auckland Black Knights
- Auckland Volcanoes

I wonder how these were shortlisted? Thye all seems to be variations of the same thing, bar Auckland Volcanoes.
Where is the nod to NZ history? (Knights/z) You'd have to ignore
Black Knights FC as no mention of Auckland. They all seem pretty meh to me, but they'll never be my team so what do I actually care
Queenslander 3x a year.
I don't think the club ever said that signings would be announced at the launch, although I agree that it is a missed opportunity to open with a marquee or two. But plenty at least in Australian circles will still be under contract and therefore not really able to be announced just yet.
The name will get enough media
Auckland will rise once more

Yep, and the club will want to time the news to create momentum into the next season. Too early and everyone would've forgotten. Need to time it right to sell season tickets.
if that's the name, all they've done is added "Club" to the name. It was already AKl(and) Football 24.
All options pretty underwhelming to me.
AKLFootball24 changed their IG handle to AucklandFC24 briefly this morning before changing it back.
In the meantime it looks like someone has then snaked in and taken the AucklandFC24 handle, hence that's what you'll be seeing. Although he's up to 8 followers now. 😂
Shambles FC before the team identity has even been released. 😂

— Wellington Phoenix 🔥 (@WgtnPhoenixFC) March 14, 2024
The Wellington Phoenix are calling for the New Zealand Government to move the Wellington border more than 700 kilometres up State Highway 1 to ensure the club’s fans are looked after.

This forum needs less angst and more Kate Bush threads
Now, the mystery's figuring out what the AFC means - just a plain Auckland FC is the best case
