I don't get all this stuff about him being injury-prone. All players get injury. Look at Lia: young, fit..then BANG!He f**ked his knee! these things just happen. Then of course, a certain Mr Ronaldo who tore his knee three times..that I would call injury-prone.
And Greenacre doesn't seem to be that bad.

Then if he'll be unlucky - we can't tell yet. Look at Perth, they had grampa Dadi up front last year - a 35 years old who held well and did wonders for them.

Then look at Amaral, another grampa who pulled something and ended up on the side lines for a chunk of the season.

I just think that injuries are way too random.

Same here, I don't buy into any of this injury-prone stuff.

And any recent Gunner..

The more I read the more my feelings about this signing sway to the positive side of the pendulum. At first I thought 'Knights redux' and wasn't too excited. The news that the injury that he recently got wasn't as bad as first thought and that he should be getting back to fitness before he comes to us makes his signing a lot better imo.

Looking at the vid for the 5th time I can see him putting away Leos crosses with ease...he thrives on good service into the box.

You thinking of the same Leo? ABout 75% of his crosses (along with the rest of the team actually) went nowhere, that was one of our main problems last season IMO!

I'd like to see him chase down Lochy's crosses. If anything's going to give him an injury, they will

Deffo happy we've made a signing but I will wait and see how he performs, English 1st div is about same standard as the A League, so if CG struggled to hold a first team place either through injury or age, his signing is a worry.

So not technically an inbred - just unfortunate

Mansfields nickname = the inbreds.

As in the same sense Arsenal's players are gooners.

Once a 'bred, always a 'bred

I see, it all makes sense now. Still, I'd rather be a monkey hanger.

On second thoughts maybe hum the theme from Green Acres.

I was reading on 4thegame that he was out for the rest of season with suspected medial ligament damage. Is that the latest?

No was an incorrect media report he is fine and is available for selection now so hopefully he can help Tranmere in the playoffs.

Tony P so needs an avatar. Suggestions anyone?

pleased with the signing of an apparently decent striker. Ate least he seems to know where the goal is, when he plays a full season he scores plenty, just this season has been a bit of injury concerns. As long as he brings his best I'll be happy.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Mansfield Town fan here, you have got a great player in Chris Greenacre, although its seven years since he left us I've watched his career with interest. He has been unlucky with injuries but when he's been fit he has always done well. He joined us from Manchester City after playing in their reserve team and he had a great spell with us and I always hoped he would come back to us later in his career. I wish Chris all the best playing for you and from now on I will be taking an interest in your results.

There is an outside chance that Greenacre may play on Saturday for Tranmere against Yeovil. So we might get to see him in action before he leaves, this is from their website

""The Manager goes into the Yeovil match with a concern over the fitness of striker Bas Savage who came off injured at Leeds, but Chris Shuker and Chris Greenacre could be close to a return to full training. ""

The best part of that obviously is that he isnt injured now and hopefully will come down to us reasonably fit.

Yeessss..
