So much stupid in this thread.  It's brilliant.  I probably contributed a wee bit to it as well.

Not trying to sound biased but I prefer Ricki to every other coach in the league.

agreed have to sack him now, two brilliant signings late in the season, Reddy - star, Dadi - we have to keep him for next season if he wants to keep playing at 37!?! but 3 goals in two games says we must have him.

yea sack the phoenix, blue magic and auckland f.c should take over. im sure they could raise the profile of the sport in n.z alot more and get rid of those ridiculous imports like ifill,greenacre,reddy and bring in proper n.z quality like coombes and spoonleyPhoenixlova2010-01-17 17:41:08

Steve-O, looking at your first post that started this thread, don't you feel a teeny bit embarrassed? I'd have to nominate you for plonker of the year. Maybe you should try cutting the guys running the Phoenix some slack, and try being supportive instead of hyper-critical.

this thread started with some serious angst towards Ricki, I wonder where those posters have all gone, perhaps hey should be forced to come back and post an apology for peaking a little early with their criticisms.......sack ricki ----- yeah right

Nope. Just the truth. What is there to apologise for?
At the start he was rudderless and it showed.
The man is the one who says so infront of the rose tinted folk. 
So I won't be sending him anything matey, for now he's just doing his job, just better than he was, alot better.
Still like to see a bit more adventure with and game time for the subs but hey there are so many more +'s now  .

are you never satisfied??? seriously, the guy was given a club to build a team ovr two seasons, he did that and in the third has created a winning team with a solid base which he continues to build on - what more could you ask for??

I'm touched that you've all missed me, but the truth is in fact that I have been on holiday around New Zealand with my parents who are over visiting! And I even treated them to the Phoenix v Brisbane game into the bargain! Alas I couldn't make the Fury game as I was at Big Day Out but I did make sure I saw the Perth game...
 
3 good wins in a row does not suddenly make Ricki the world's best coach! I think the Perth game showed that we're also capable of crap performances as well as good ones.
 
Yes, we have improved since the original post was made, but the overall season could have been sooo much better but for all those draws and insipid away performances.
 
IF we make the play offs and actually do something of note in them, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong and I'll be celebrating along with everyone else. Despite what you might think, I don't want the team to do badly!

Also, I must admit to having had a 'few' beers when I made that first post, and the subsequent ones on that night...looking back at it, I maybe did come on a bit strong
