Musa not really the type of fullback Merrick is after. He's not known for getting up the flank (at least to my knowledge).
I think the only fullback in the U20s without a professional club is Cory Brown. I haven't seen him play much at all so can't comment on his ability or playing type. But he's currently with Western Suburbs and has only played ASBP with the Wanderers.
Luis Garcia still needs to name 3 others.

It really does seem that virtually everyone on this forum would be better at putting a team together than Ernie, and building a team full of honest coalface Kiwi talent at that, so I'm not sure why there weren't more CVs sent in when Welnix were looking for a coach.

I thought that in '09 when Ricki didn't approach WeeMac. We may have achived a few more things if we had landed him back them cheap as chips. Imagine him, Daniel and Ifill as our midfield in say 2010-11.

I would be happy to give Cory Brown a contract. Every time I have seen him play (this is mainly in nz age group teams) he has looked the goods.
Reads the game very well, positionally is excellent and confident on the ball.

I was reading on another forum a while back a rumor that Welnix was thinking of pulling the plug on the nix after the 15/16 season, something to do with only signing a new short term contract with the stadium at a higher cost. Of course that is just as likely to be another negotiation tactic, or complete BS (considering the source). But it is worrying that other teams have players signed through to the end of the 16/17 season and beyond yet, despite having a few kids, we don't.
Will be interesting to see what terms players resign on over the course of the season.

Well, I don't actually think that our licence has yet been extended past the 15/16 season. We are hoping for a long term licence as that will give us better ground to negotiate a long term deal with the stadium. That was one of the issues with the Petone stadium, for Welnix to invest they needed assurance of a long term licence, which is yet to be confirmed/finalised.

Clearly the answer is no, so it's in the interests of stadium management to do what they can to keep the nix in business too. If the prices really are high enough to drive the Nix away or make the club unsustainable then ultimately that means less money for the stadium in the long run. So both parties have a vested interest in finding a price that doesn't cripple the club. Hopefully they see it that way too.
In other words, that stadium might have a monopoly but they have a very small market so pricing even one client out of that market could have serious impacts on their bottom line.

In aussie the Olympic stadium has actually wanted to get involved in taking shares in various teams so they play at the ground. Obviously a competitive environment over there, but both the council and the stadium are incentivised to keep a team in Wellington

I think the stadium's rationale is that we have relatively strong financial backing so Welnix will just pay the extra.They probably reason that increased costs to use the stadium won't be enough to make us go broke.

As I alluded, Westpac are unlikely to reduce costs until it is obvious that the Nix might go [either relocate or fold].
You only need to look around the world to see how the tennant/stadium thing works. In the NFL it is not unusual for team owners to move cities on the premise of new facilities. Can you imagine the surprise on the faces of the Oakland City Council when Al Davis took the Raiders to Los Angeles? As someopne else said, it is not unusual for stadia or venues to even buy teams to ensure they play at the venue - see the Arena Football League as an example. Back to the NFL, Los angeles is their biggest TV market [might be #2] and they have no NFL team. Once upon a time they had 2 teams and they both left [to St Louis and Oakland] because they weren't getting a good enough deal from the stadium owners. The template is there and WellNix will use it if they can find a better alternative. Balls my word......
