Crowds - The thread of Australian whining

All I was suggesting was that atmosphere was a draw card. It has been mentioned on these forums before that what differentiates us from rugby is that we get involved. I don't know how the club can assist with this but encouraging more people to get involved and feel apart of something when they are at the stadium makes it more enjoyable for those who watch and then it may even encourage them get their bums off their couches and down to the stadium to join in. I realise this doesn't answer HOW but it is a possible WHAT.

didn't they play a couple games in p town? i thought they did before season started anyway ?

I know they have in past pre-season's, not sure they did this one.

Feel they do need to do more promo work out in the hutt and p-town and even the coast.  Enjoyed the game against a Wtgn team a couple of seasons ago just before the snow came.

Yeah i thought you only needed permission to promote a preseason game if it were against another A-League side?

Sounds a bit childish to me. I would have thought any positive advertising of games would draw attention and crowds and therefore encourage a greater fan base. Surely the FFA would like to see this encouraged or have they got their heads up their arses?

I hope Gareth can get some sort of deal for the Hurricanes Phoenix double header on Easter weekend.  Can we buy alcohol on Easter Sunday?

Not allowed to drink on Easter Sunday, unless the Backbencher apply for a 'special license' to be able to serve alcohol on that day. It's so bullshit that we still have laws based on a book of fiction that was written 2000 years ago. I'm perfectly happy for people to practice their religion in their own time, but don't force it on me in the form of laws of this country!

I'm hoping that the recent census will show...for the first time...that nz has more people who are not"Christian" than are aligned to the religions that make up that block. There will then be good grounds to push for abolishing all laws that are forced on us by (what I hope) will be a minority of the population. Plus we can get a decent national song without making reference to some people's invisible friend....

I'm not religious but do like having Easter and Christmas days off work

I'm happy for them to be public holidays, just don't tell businesses what they can and can't sell. It's also ridiculous that places like supermarkets etc cannot be open on Easter Sunday, even though it is not a public holiday. It's not fair on workers that rely on that day of pay to be able to meet the bills, they have to apply for leave to get paid for the day.

Yeah the Sunday has never been a holiday. Odd but true

I'm pretty sure that a venue that has a dedicated "event" can serve refreshments of the falling down kind.

Another option to "dining" at the BB, is for Boycie to employ us all as glass cleaners, then we are within the law.
