I think the our goals conceded and subsequent negative goal differential will come back to haunt us.

Probably stating the obvious here, but Gold coast sitting in a very good position here,  conceding few goals and they have a number of catch up games at home, altjhough not sure what advantage their home "crowd" is

GCU four games in hand. Would be top by 2 points if they won them all.

Yeah I can understand 2 or possibly 3 games, but two teams with 4 games to catch-up? That's utter rubbish planning.

We'll be doing well if we can finish ahead of the two Melbourne teams. compared to last season too many losses and too few draws.

However we were told this would be a team that would win games, so here is hoping we win a few more and rocket up the table.

It's almost at the point where we're realistically not going to finish any higher than 5th place in the regular season.

But remember last season, Cold Ghost were leading the league for a time and were deep in contention for a top-2 berth (eventually finished 3rd) and they took on Newcastle, who finished in 6th despite a negative goal difference and being average all season. 6th place Newcastle won.

We've conceded the second most so far...:( good news being North finding some form and Musa looking like giving us some depth even if he is a little inexperienced. Saw him shut down Kruse a few times...

Yep, Musa's 2nd half was especially good - barely gave Kruse a sniff. And that last ditch tackle he got in on Kruse to prevent him scoring was fantastic.

So it's 4 teams into 2 spots. I know it's early on in the season but the top 4 are pretty sorted and it's the Nix, the two Melbs and the Jest battling for 5th and 6th. Perth and Sydney won't worry anyone with the way they're playing. NQF dark horse.

Jets have a good run home - they play only two of the top four sides from here to playoffs, five games v the middle four teams and six against the bottom three

plus their points per game over the last few games since they signed Jeffers(?) would be up with the leaders

we play them twice in the run home, so they will be big games

possibly us and the Melbournes fighting for the last place in the top six, but if we get back to playing like we did during the best of last night I don't think we'll have any problems

We've got a pretty good run in as well. Just Adelaide as the big team then Melbourne Victory, Jets, Fury and Glory. Win everything.

Thanks LF1
I don't know if I've said this before, but you do a great job with this thread - much appreciated.

I'm not sure but I thought Jeffers(?) has only started for Jets for the last four games?

I think thats
1-1 Mariners
1-0 Nix
1-1 Roar
3-1 Adelaide
avg 2pts/game against some classy opposition

Interesting to realise Sydney and GCU have been going pretty well those last five rounds ...
so much for the cellar dwellers ...
best we dent that this week for Sydney.  Tougher with Brosque.

Go Nix!

The Roar are on fire - only 1 loss in 19 games and a GD of +20.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

No one (HAL) team has ever been this dominant - hopefully they pay back the Tards for inflicting their only defeat on them with a win on Friday night. It would help us.

We're right in the mix and Sydney on Wednesday is another key match for us. We've had a rather poor run against Sydney, with five losses in a row (all losses that hurt badly) before a scrappy win earlier in this season.

Adelaide 1st season were pretty exceptional. Won the league by about 11 points.

Three for me, and two for them.
