League Table 2013/2014 Season

Heart picked up once John van't Schipp returned, but also once Engelaar took the field again after a long layoff. Which makes me think that the lack of depth will be our undoing, not our technical or otherwise shortcomings. In other words, the problem is not that we have Vince Lia, but that we do not have Albert Riera (at present).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Next week is huge.....we beat Perth and Sydney lose we go 6th. Lose and other results go against us we will be 9th and 2 points off bottom place.

CCM 2 Syd FC 1

Melb Heart 4 Melb Victory 0

We're in danger of being overtaken by the Heart which didn't seem possible  not so long ago.  I preferred it when Heart were pants.

Heart have won 5 on the trot.

That's a bloody crammed table. You need to pick up your own points and hope other results go your way because all teams are still in with a shout and with the way this league has gone, the results are very unpredictable (Jets did Roar and WSW b2b). That's incredible

4 points between 3rd and 8th, and only the top 3 teams have positive GD. Craziness

played with that and heres my prediction for the final ladder

Team P GD PTS
Brisbane Roar 27 21 51
Western Sydney Wanderers 27 4 42
Adelaide United 27 15 41
Wellington Phoenix 27 3 40
Central Coast Mariners 27 -5 39
Melbourne Victory 27 -9 37
Melbourne Heart 27 5 36
Sydney FC 27 -4 36
Newcastle Jets 27 -13 29
Perth Glory 27 -17 22
it relies on us not losing a game in the next six rounds of course

Walked away feeling like today's draw was as good as a loss. But we still have to face Sydney and Newcastle, so we can still catch them but its getting really hard to see us making it.

Got a better goal difference than the Central Coast Seamen at least - that might come in useful

A loss and we were out of it for sure. A draw meant we are just in it. We are just 3 points behind (with a better goal difference) after all.

Allegedly

3rd best season ever after 22 games, interesting

It's frankly f*cken amazing that we have managed to keep getting points despite the crazy injuries picked up, particularly in the fullback positions, where we were weak to begin with anyway

2-0 after 5 minutes, I thought CCM were going to hammer the Jets. We really need to win today to stay in the mix, otrherwise it is season over and Ernie could spend the last few games blooding some more youngsters.
