I have a theory.

It may sound a little crazy, but hear me out.

Melbourne Victory supporters purchased the Doom Post (off the NZRU) and published these stories as an elaborate revenge against Therks prank.

Well played MV,well played.

So we have a liar in here somewhere then

1: The paper either lied about the quote or posted a real quote (note a quote but no name to it)
2: The club either put out that quote as either a dumb bluff call or because they were genuinely told he was leaving or infact made no such statement.
3: The kid has told the club he is leaving, told porkies and denied he said that to the club or he hasn't actually said anything to the club at all

Either way, this is highly f**ked and I really can't help but think/speculate that a lot of this sh*t would not have happened on Tony P's watch.

Where would the truth lie? Who knows but all 3 could easily have the finger pointed at them as being culpable

Im choosing the Doom post as the liar.

2 reasons:
Gives me more reason to hate them.
Gives me hope Rojas may still be staying.

It easy to point the finger at the Doom Post because they are quite negative but while most of their stories this year have been negative, they haven't been wrong.

To me, the quote in the paper wreeks of a Terry business negotiating tactic but I am loathe to want to think that the club would be that dumb.

You're assuming it was Nathan's decision to say what he did.

Why wouldn't it have been?

Does someone else control what he says?

Either way,why say it if it isn't true. Pretty massive stuff up.

Perhaps explain what you mean by that 2B?

Quick question:

why wasn't he given a contract after the first couple of games when he looked awesome??

Ricki not rate him enough?
terry not want to spend the money?
Nathan and team drop the ball?

Because Marco and Rodi said they didn't want distractions and wanted to focus on the season.

Fair enough. Its (possibly) a stuff up by the club as a whole, and unfair to pin it on one person without any knowledge of who told who to say what.

Either that or Rojas and his dad are lying.

Or the doom post have hit an all time low.

I can confirm as at 5pm tonight Marco HAS NOT signed for anyone. This is a typical ploy from the phoenix to feed some lines to the paper to try and pressure a young player into staying, looks like that back fired. Thanks to you ball less muppets who hide behind bogus names you have pretty much well made up his mind. It is all good and well slagging someone off in a forum, but having a crack on his facebook page, you lot are no better than Millwall fans, thugs. Why don't you lot grow a set and start looking at why the club is losing the Marcos, Kostas and even Troy Hearfield. Bet you won't like the reasons, it is never the clubs fault is it?
Actually you will know when he has signed for an Aussie team, they will have a press release.

because two games in, you dont know if you will start again and what the rest of the season holds.

at the end of the season when you are voted one of the best young talents in theleague, new doors open up.

Well done Soley.  you've pretty much ignored 29 pages of posts and tagged everyone on here with the same brush when most of them have done nothing but wish Marco would stay.

To be fair, those are a huge minority that did that. I seriously doubt a couple of 12 year old idiots posting on his facebook page is going to sway his decision at all.

There are a minority of idiotic supporters like that at any club.

1 person said they hope we break his legs. Does that mean the fans as a whole want his legs broken? no. Should that sway his decision at all? no.

Totally agree bro. I lost my rag at him, but I did it in my own house and sent no messages to him (positive or negative). Fans have reason to be upset by his move, but also at the way numerous parties have acted as well, including the club.

I hope marco continues to play for the phoenix, it would be highly dissapointing for him not too. A step to another A League club with the exception on Brisbane and CCM is not a step up. However, if he were to sign for an international club, that would be very understandable.

Good luck marco, looking forward to seeing you in white,

Tim

We are kittens compared to some fans he may come across if he is to make it to the big time.Dont agree with abusing him on facebook or even some of the stuff on here.
If its that which has finally made his mind up to go then i doubt he intended to stay anyway
